The Model Risk Management Group team within the Global Risk, Banking and Compliance organization provides independent oversight of all risk models in order to elevate model excellence, strengthen long term shareholder value and satisfy regulatory institutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the review and model risk oversight of consumer and commercial models. The candidate will also be responsible for providing leadership to the team responsible for the validation of consumer, small business and corporate portfolio.

Job requirements:

- Lead a team of risk professionals

- Oversee model risk associated to consumer and commercial credit/fraud/limit management models

- Collaborate with business partners to understand decisions/strategies influenced by a model and corresponding risk associated with it

- Review and effectively challenge the logical and conceptual soundness of models

- Review and effectively challenge statistical techniques and financial frameworks used for model development

- Review model inputs for appropriateness and data integrity

- Review model documentation

- Write formal model validation assessments and share with the various stakeholders

- Track validation findings and review/monitor the resolution of the findings

- Conduct periodic model performance reviews

- Oversee model inventory and classification of models into importance tiers

- Maintain and continuously improve the validation methodology for consumer and commercial credit and fraud decisions

- Oversee model implementation

Qualifications:

- 4+ years of previous experience in consumer and/or commercial credit modeling

- Strong analytical skills with 3+ years of hands-on model development skills

- Hands-on experience with data manipulation tools and languages such as SQL and SAS

- Hands-on experience with R, JAVA and Python preferred

- Exposure to Machine Learning Algorithms/Techniques preferred

- Good understanding of credit and fraud model applications preferred

- Good understanding of analytical platforms/interfaces and processes preferred

- Post graduate degree (Ph.D. preferred) in statistics, decision science, economics or closely related fields. Expertise in credit analysis, multivariate analysis and statistics / econometric modeling is expected.

- 1-2 years of strong prior people leadership experience preferred

- Strong leadership experience in employee engagement and process enhancement coaching skills

- Experience in applying advanced statistical and/or quantitative techniques to solve business problems is preferred.

- Thought leadership and experience in effectively communicating complex analytical results to business partners and senior management.

- Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Willingness to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business process and project execution. Desire to innovate and work on challenging projects with a fun and cohesive team
