Here's some of what you'll be doing:  - Cultivating an environment of continuous engineering improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics  - Recruiting skilled engineering talent with business and industry experience,  - Identifying and implementing strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce.  - Leading software development teams and acting as an escalation point to remove impediments  - Engaging in solution design and ensuring alignment of strategy, architecture, tools/methods with software engineers and architects to execute product roadmaps  - Executing product roadmaps and prioritizing, planning and executing the development schedule for major product releases  - Enabling integrated teams to deliver technology solutions in support of key product initiatives by working closely with product managers, technical project managers, architects, engineers, and quality assurance  - Coaching, guiding and promoting the creation of high quality, clearly documented, and compliant deliverables across engineering teams.   - Offer of employment with American Express is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background verification check, subject to applicable laws and regulations.  Qualifications -   Are you up for the challenge -   - Computer Science or Information Systems degree or equivalent work experience in Voice technologies.  - 6+ Years of experience managing software engineering teams.  - Minimum 3+ years managing software engineering teams with knowledge across PBX/ACD/CTI and IVR technologies & solutions  - Experience with Java/JavaScript, Eclipse SDK & XML (SCXML/VXML) a definite asset  - Understand requirements specific to deploying IP telephony across both Cloud, LAN's and WAN's a definite asset  - Strategic thinker who utilizes creative solutions for problem resolution and application development.  - Understanding of scalable, secure and robust n-tier architectures for achieving end-to-end performance, scalability, availability, reliability, usability, configurability, integration and security a plus  - Demonstrated ability to problem solve and influence key stakeholders in the prioritization of product backlogs.  - Proven ability to participate in, and contribute simultaneously to, multiple work streams including planning, logistics and communication,   - Ability to lead a high performance, cross-functional team  - Ability to manage the work and quality of other cross-functional team members  - Excellent written and verbal skills in English  At the core of Delivery -   Every member of our team must be able to demonstrate the following technical, functional, leadership and business core competencies, including:  - Agile Practices  - Software Configuration  - Automation  - Programming/Software Development  - Enterprise Architecture  - Adaptive Communication  - Analytical Thinking  Why American Express   Talk to our people and you'l find out what we're really all about.
