American Express - Assistant Manager - FXIP Analytics - IIT/NIT/NSIT/IIIT/ISI

Global Commercial Payments (GCP) continues to be a fast growing business within American Express with the key objectives of accelerating growth, increasing profitability, and enhancing product value propositions to meet client needs. The Data, Strategy & Insights (DS&I) India team within GCP is instrumental in driving these objectives by providing actionable data driven insights and consultative solutions to core Marketing and Product teams across the globe. The open role is an exciting opportunity to be part of the GCP growth story in a dynamic, intellectually stimulating, open, fun and collaborative environment.

The position will be responsible for developing predictive models to target customers with marketing offers, as well as applying advanced data mining techniques to identify customers for specific marketing, portfolio expansion or portfolio enhancement initiatives. The successful candidate will partner extensively with FXIP Marketing teams in New York, as well as various cross-functional teams including Finance and Risk Management to provide holistic data driven solutions for business needs.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Support and enable the FXIP Marketing Organization with actionable data driven insights and analytical solutions

- Develop predictive models to target customers with Marketing offers

- Leverage advanced segmentation techniques, such as Clustering and CHAID, to identify customer segments for cross sell offers or new product development/product penetration

- Develop statistical models to identify profitable customer segments for portfolio enhancement, for example offering a specific benefit or value-add service

- Collaborate with functional leaders, business partners and senior leaders to assess business needs, evaluate project feasibility, ensure data integrity, and provide actionable recommendations

- Implement processes to drive data governance and implement quality controls - create and maintain documentation for all process specific tasks

Qualifications:

Tier 1 Engineering or Economics or statistics course. (IIT, NIT,DCE, NSIT, IIITs, DSE,ISI)

- At least 3 years of experience in statistical modeling with relevant experience in big data and data mining

- Strong knowledge of econometrics, statistics and research methods

- Knowledge of SAS, SQL & Advanced Excel required

- Advanced degree in a quantitative field required

- Superior analytical and problem solving skills

- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills with an ability to formulate and communicate strategies in a clear and compelling way

- A demonstrated ability to work in high-pressure situations with minimal errors

- An optimistic and growth mindset with a tremendous will to win

- Should be able to function with minimum supervision with high sense of ownership

- Should be comfortable with flexible shift timings to support the international business
