American Express - Analyst - Finance Data Governance

- As part of the Financial Reporting Quality Assurance Organization (FRQA) within Corporate Controllership, this role is responsible from bringing and managing data under governance for Finance.

Finance Data Governance (FDG) team is leading the effort of defining the future roadmap for data governance within Finance.

- This analyst will support the Data Quality Center of Excellence team responsible for monitoring the health of governed data and support remediation of data quality issues.

- As a Finance Data Governance analyst, you will be part of a team of data management professionals focused on providing world-class data management and data governance solutions. You will partner closely with Finance Technology transformation team, Enterprise Data Management, Controllership, Risk, and other teams to drive data governance and data quality within Finance.

- The Finance Data Governance analyst is a collaborator, a well-organized, action-oriented team player with strong time management skills, confident in presenting, facilitating, and building a network of strong relationships across our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

- Finance Data Governance in compliance with the Enterprise Data Governance Policy ensuring the appropriate accountability model and processes for data quality resolution.

- Work with various stakeholders to perform necessary root cause analysis and support remediation of identified issues.

- Produce data quality scorecards, dashboards, analytical reports to monitor health of data.

- Perform root-cause-analysis of data quality issues and assist in remediation of Audit and Regulatory feedback.

- Support strategic improvements to data assessment process and making necessary enhancements to data analytical and data quality tools.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Ability to work in hybrid environment.

- 5+ years of experience in Finance and Controllership is preferred.

- Strong relationship skills and communication is essential as this analyst will partner with multiple groups e.g., Business process owners, Technologies, and Enterprise Data Governance.

- Self-motivated and proactive, ability to manage multiple assignments and projects concurrently.

- Strong Excel, Power Point, and other technical skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- SQL knowledge preferred.

- Ability to collect business requirements and use them to guide implementation of a technical solution.

- Prior experience with data quality programs is preferred.

- Good knowledge of Collibra is preferred.

- Familiarity with Agile (Rally/Jira) or SAFE project methodologies.
