Function Description :

- The Strategic Planning Group (SPG) at American Express works as a partner for our business unit clients and for Amex by informing, resolving, and driving execution of the most critical strategic initiatives

- With a focus on digitization, innovation, and analytics, the Enterprise Digital Analytics (EDA) team creates central, scalable platforms and customer experiences to help markets across all of these priorities.

- Charter is to drive scale for the business and accelerate innovation for both immediate impact as well as long-term transformation of our business. A unique aspect of EDA is the integration of diverse skills across all its remit. EDA has a very broad range of responsibilities, resulting in a broad range of initiatives around the world.

Purpose of the Role :

- A role partnering with SPG within EDA at American Express offers the unique opportunity to work across key business lines with the top strategic minds in the company.

Responsibilities :

- Perform analysis and research to develop insights and solutions to tackle the most critical strategic priorities

- End-to-end delivery of projects from problem structuring to presentation

- Cross-collaboration across organization especially EDA to generate insights based on Amex and external data sources

Critical Factors to Success : Translate unstructured requests into analytical strategies and convert the available information into actionable insights

Past Experience : Prior experience with strategy consulting companies will be a plus.

Academic Background : Top tier MBA or Masters in Economics/Statistics background.

Functional Skills/Capabilities :

- Demonstrable strong analytical aptitude and ability to analyse data to come up with meaningful insights and make informed business decisions.

- Strong project management skills; organized, detail-oriented individual with the ability to manage through unstructured situations.

- Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to collaborate and be a team player

- Strong professional presence; effective communication and presentation skills

Technical Skills/Capabilities :

- Advanced level used for Excel and PowerPoint

- Familiarity with SAS / SQL

Knowledge of Platforms : Experience working on Python/C/HTML
