TPM - Job Description (Technical Program Management) - Amazon device offerings present an exciting new opportunity for mobile application developers. We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager. - You will be apart of the team building products to better manage content operations with in Amazon Appstore, right from onboarding them on Appstore, providing testing tools, and providing right analytics. You will also be responsible for enabling verifying quality and originality of submitted apps and provides millions of consumers with a high quality apps catalog. - You will lead program management from technical perspective. The business requirements, and execution plan for delivering products to enhance developer and consumer experience. - You will define an innovative customer experience, coordinate with the technical team to ensure the requirements are implemented effectively, and partner with business development to establish the necessary strategic relationships and content availability. - You will be responsible for integration with other Appstore functional teams, Device organization and cross group collaboration with other Amazon product teams. You will lead executive business reviews and ensure that all stakeholders are appropriately informed and involved. As the Senior TPM of Appstore - what you do - Understand the goals and vision of the device organization - Translate that vision for COPS Tablets organization - Creating buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners - Translating the customer experience into a logically sequenced and optimized product roadmap - Writing complete and detail-oriented requirements documents and ensuring clear communication of those requirements to the business, design, usability and development teams - Maintaining a product and feature roadmap and managing prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, site performance and operational support load - Proactively identifying and resolving strategic issues that may impair the team's ability to meet strategic, financial, and product goals - Leading cross-functionally to ensure we implement the business vision efficiently - Achieving launch dates and business goals - Drive alignment and focus within engineering, assisting in determining the best technical implementation methods, track product development, and develop product launch plans. - Partner internally with engineering and cross functional teams to define and deliver the product vision. - Build strategic alliances and partner externally with industry leading ecosystem partners and developers 2. Basic qualifications - Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules - 7+ years of relevant engineering experience - 5+ years of technical program management experience 3. Applies knowledge to invent, evolve, improve, simplify, etc. Academics &amp; Experience - 12+ years of experience in information technology field with 5+ years of relevant work experience in internet-related program and/or technical product management in a software applications environment - Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline Preferred Qualifications : - Strong strategic aptitude; proven ability to define a winning business strategy and product roadmap - Excellent customer experience intuition; demonstrated success in creating innovative and user-friendly applications and customer-facing features - Excellent communication and persuasion skills; demonstrated success building buy-in for an innovative and bold vision - Experience operating in a global environment - Strong analytical and quantitative skills; strong bias towards data-based decision making and comfort with pro-forma financial and operational analysis - Implementation orientation; demonstrated ability to translate strategic differentiators into innovative and detailed product requirements - Technical fluency; comfort understanding and discussing architectural concepts, schedule tradeoffs and new opportunities with technical team members - Proven ability to make smart feature (customer experience) versus time-to-market trade-offs; experience using data and metrics to back up assumptions and assertions of business value - Nimbleness and comfort with ambiguity; comfort responding quickly to rapidly evolving threats and opportunities - Strong bias for action; ability to juggle multiple priorities and create a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment - Street smarts; willingness to roll up the sleeves and do whatever is necessary to meet team goals - Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence versus direct management; excellent interpersonal skills
