Amazon Development Center India (ADCI) started in Bangalore in 2004, followed by centers in Hyderabad (2005) and Chennai (2006). Role :

In this role, the HRBP will support multiple business units within the Devices and Services organization with employees based in Bangalore and Pune. The role will involve the incumbent to wear multiple hats to partner technology, business and operations teams. The role has an exciting charter to also build HR programs and solutions that span across multiple business units in India involving high level of complexity and scale. The role will involve work in areas of increasing workforce capability, providing change leadership, talent management, succession planning and supporting day-to-day operations as well as on-going process improvement.

Job responsibilities :

- Coach senior leaders and be a trusted advisor for them on strategic talent challenges.

- Review and analyze talent metrics to identify trends and recommend solutions to improve performance, retention, and employee experience

- Partner with business on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and skills assessment and development.

- Influence global HR and business leaders to drive India specific needs and sensitize them to India specific nuances

- Provide ongoing support to the leadership team on human resources related matters, policies and procedures

- Provide compensation support including salary planning, approval of salary actions, promotions and job re-leveling

- Work with line managers and employees to address all types of employee relations issues

- Partner with managers to retain, develop and motivate people to achieve their fullest potential

- Implement/administer/interpret corporate policies/programs/procedures

- Plan, manage and provide continuous improvement to all aspects of the client organization and leadership review process and the strategic objectives therein. This includes annual, mid-year and quarterly processes which focus on performance management and talent development.

- Define HR goals that are based on business drivers and ensuring that the team is always looking for underlying people issues to help solve business challenges

Critical Skills and Abilities:

- Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative

- Ability to influence and partner with different levels of the organization to achieve results

- Demonstrated ability to coach managers and supervisors to use company best practices for maximum effectiveness

- Excellent written, verbal communication, interpersonal skills; high quality document writing

- Excellent presentation skills and knowledge of employment laws

- Proven ability to successfully work as a team member and to build and maintain a positive work environment across the network

- Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment requiring strong multi-tasking abilities

- Champion employee engagement, set up employee engagement principles and practices to ensure positive employee engagement and communications are in place

- Program manage initiatives to drive Amazon's leadership principles, business vision and charter across a variety of customers
