The Alexa Voice Service (AVS) team is seeking an innovative, results-oriented, customer-centric Sr. Product Manager who will help define the strategy and drive the execution of new capabilities, tools, and partnerships to enable third party device makers to build world-class, innovative experiences for Amazon Alexa. You will need to understand customer needs and be responsible for driving and synthesizing these into new product features, experiences, and roadmaps. In this role you will advocate for the end customer, and work directly with device makers to understand their needs and aspirations. You will build a strategy, author business requirements documents, and work with development teams to scope, plan and build. A successful candidate will have a passion for building and simplifying technical solutions and the entrepreneurial grit to get things done! Key Responsibilities: - Be responsible for the health of the business overall; set business goals, and drive programs to improve overall performance. - Own the Product Management relationship with key external stakeholders; maintain partner of choice status, drive a strategic and executional relationship. - Drive the overall product roadmap, and manage prioritization and tradeoffs. - Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners - Establish business processes and policies as well as metrics and indicators for success - Measure and analyze existing products and business models for opportunities to innovate and improve, providing additional benefits to developers and customers - Drive product launches including working with public relations team, executives, and other product management team members - Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team's ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals Professional traits that are not unique to this position, but necessary for Amazon leaders : - Exhibits excellent judgment - Has "Relentlessly High Standards" (is never satisfied with the status quo) - Is able to "Dive Deep" and is never out of touch with the details of the business or the technology - Is oriented towards "Delivering Results" "Thinks Big" A day in the life : You will manage the rhythm of the business and be responsible for business performance, product performance, and driving strategic engagements with third party device makers. About the team : The Alexa Voice Services Team (AVS) mission is to delight customers by bringing familiar, lovable, and new Alexa experiences everywhere customers want them to be: at home, on the go, and even in space. We do this by partnering with the world's leading device makers to invent, enable, and scale Alexa experiences. Today, the team oversees multiple device categories (focusing on Multimodal, On-the-Go, and Multi-agent). BASIC QUALIFICATIONS : Demonstrated Experience with : - Working externally-facing with strategic partners - Driving creation of, and leveraging, research for robust product strategies. - Leveraging data to run a line-of-business. - Executive communication and presence - Building and scaling developer programs. - B.Tech/BASc/BSEE or equivalent - 5+ years of relevant work experience in Product Management in a technical field PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : - MBA or equivalent - Experience working with connected device vendors - Experience with the connected TV, wireless speakers, set top box, ambient screens, wearables, and/or streaming video device categories. - Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired
