The Senior Manager, (Project Management Office) will be responsible for managing complex expansion projects for Finance Operations. He/She will directly and indirectly lead a team of Program and Project Managers; and will be responsible for timely and optimal delivery of all projects (including AWS, Retail, Digital, Logistics expansions). The Senior Manager, (Project Management Office) is also responsible for improving efficiency and effectiveness of Project Management Office by improving governance structure, developing or improving existing playbooks, identifying and executing on opportunities to reduce the time to launch Finance Capabilities to support new business or new geography launches across India and the Globe. This person is innovative, results-driven professional with solid people skills, deep expertise and extensive experience in effectively and efficiently managing a large number of expansion or M&amp;A or complex projects (10 - 20 projects) in parallel, with demonstrable process mapping or process re-engineering knowledge. This position will work across businesses, geographies and verticals to drive design and deployment of Finance capabilities and be a key contributor to Amazon's growth. This is a senior leadership role and incumbent is expected to effectively navigate and work in a matrix organization, influence senior stakeholders, negotiate timelines with stakeholders (as needed), and deliver results around the globe. Ability to think big and execute at a tactical level is critical to be successful in this role. Roles and Responsibilities : - Lead the on-time delivery of all projects and programs with the highest customer experience, quality and controllership - Deliver Finance Operations capabilities, learn from project launches and increase speed and quality of delivery. - Gain expertise in Finance Operations (AP, AR Payroll) processes and associated technology as it relates to expansion projects - Manage and mentor project managers, program managers and portfolio managers by providing insights on upstream as well as system dependencies, risks, issues, mitigation strategies, dos and don- ts - Establish relationship with business leaders across the globe - Own the refinement and/or development of governance structure, playbooks, tools and templates; and drive global adoption - Serve as change agent with strong credibility and influence in the organization - Elevate culture of Innovation and Continuous Improvement through best practice sharing, vocal, advocacy and visible hand-on leadership. - Develop and provide right metrics to measure project success, providing meaningful feedback to project manager, process, business and technology owners - Represent FinOps PMO in internal and external meetings Basic Qualifications : 15+ year of experience leading M&amp;A, expansion or enterprise-wide transformation projects - Extensive experience managing multiple complex projects in parallel - Track record of delivering complex cross functional projects on time and within budget with the highest level of quality and controllership - Track record of driving and delivering improvements to project management office such as identifying opportunities (including pre-fabrication of requirements, technology, knowledge sharing) to reduce time to launch and improve quality - Experience leading global teams - Proficient in project management tools and templates - Deep process and technology knowledge - Ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements and prioritize tasks - Skilled at driving consensus with technical and non-technical audiences - Articulate and able to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization, from front-line associates to executives through white papers as well as verbal communication - Demonstrated Change Management experience including the ability to work with improvement team sponsors to address barriers to a team's success and prioritize tasks Preferred Qualifications : - Degree in Finance, Engineering or Accounting - Experience with and understanding or delivering projects following SDLC or agile methodologies - MBA or advanced degree is a plus - Experience in both industry and consulting - Project/Program Management Certification: PMP, or equivalent
