Amazon's Product Quality team works to ensure that buyers receive authentic products in the condition and with the functionality they are expecting. We design and implement policies, tools and technology innovations to protect the buying experience on Amazon while minimizing friction for sellers. Our team is looking for a Sr. Incident Manager to manage critical and high impact global events and escalations, with an emphasis on those pertaining to India. Incident Managers combine a passion for protecting customers with an ability to think quickly and take decisive action. At Amazon, Incident Managers don- t just put out fires - they also own fixing the problems that caused them. In this position you will: - Support teams in responding to, investigating, managing and resolving high-impact incidents and escalations around product quality issues, including but not limited to authenticity (counterfeit, trademark, copyright) issues. This work will be global in nature, with an emphasis on the Asia-Pacific region. - Analyze existing policy and process gaps, and develop solutions to close them, with an emphasis on gaps related to the Asia-Pacific region. - Take leading role in drafting and presenting deep-dive documents, including responses to senior executives and Correction of Errors (COE) reports. - Own and/or manage projects designed to improve process and decision-making efficiency and effectiveness. This will include accessing and analyzing data and working extensively with external teams. - Closely monitor media and global events to anticipate and mitigate potential risks. Be comfortable using data to analyze trends, predict and fix problems before they happen. - Use high-level judgment to own our most complex enforcement decisions. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Sciences/IT or related fields - At least 3-4 years of experience working in relevant industries such as e-commerce, law, IP or brand protection, customer service, investigations, risk management, etc. - Strong critical and analytical thinking; ability to solve complex and ambiguous problems - Intensely customer-focused, with passion for protecting customers from bad actors. - Exceptional bias for action - willing to move quickly and decisively to resolve an incident. - Makes smart and timely decisions. Understands when to own a decision and when to get input from others. - Experience developing and presenting to large groups (including senior executives), and comfortable discussing and defending ideas. - Organized and self-directed: sets and meets own deadlines, multi-tasks, and prioritizes. - Excellent written communication; maintains a high degree of professionalism when communicating with internal customers, external customers and senior leadership. Preferred Qualifications : - Experience in E-commerce/internet industry - Proficiency in SQL, Microsoft Excel, and relevant analysis tools. - Previous project management or program management experience. - Advanced degree.
