Amazon - Senior Category Manager - Prime Now

The role of Prime Now is to provide ultrafast (2 hour and same day scheduled) and reliable delivery for selection that customers need, or want, fast. Customers find their daily grocery essentials and a curated selection of Amazon's top-selling items on Prime Now. The program is highly cross-functional in nature, operations intensive and requires a number of India-first solutions to be created.

In this context, Prime NOW IN is looking for a talented, driven and experienced Senior Category Manager to lead a city and our consumables category. It is a pivotal role that will contribute to the evolution and success of one of the fastest growing businesses in the company.

Joining the Amazon team means partnering with a dynamic and creative group who set a high bar for innovation and success in a fast-paced and changing environment. The Category Manager will be responsible for managing key inputs (selection, price and in stock) for a city in addition to a set of categories working with stakeholder teams to deliver a best-in-class customer experience.

We expect the Category Manager to be a passionate customer and category advocate within Amazon, with proven analytical capabilities and project management skills, extreme attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task. The Category Manager must be an effective negotiator, leader and communicator in working with some of Amazon's most important partners and vendors, as well as with internal cross-functional teams. He /she is expected to drive projects of high complexity and operates with significant autonomy and discretion while influencing other external teams.

Responsibilities:

The successful Category Manager must be able to:

- Act as the - business owner- for his or her categories, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact our business

- Have a thorough understanding of the industry, trends/events, and continually monitor competitor/industry developments

- Strong focus on customer needs, both existing and potential, and use that knowledge to deliver a customer experience that is unparalleled

- Identify new opportunities, develop and execute project plans,

- Coordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal and external parties, while meeting tight deadlines

- Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet goals

Basic Qualifications

- Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive results

- Strong business judgment with a track record of successful negotiations and overall relationship management.

- Ability to think strategically and tactically, with excellent attention to detail

- Passionate about the grocery sector in India

- Tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment

- Proven analytical thinking, project management skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills are essential

- Bachelor's degree is required with an MBA preferred

A successful track record in the e-commerce industry / FMCG / offline retail / management consulting is preferred
