Amazon - Senior Category Manager - Amazon Fresh

Amazon Fresh is the basket grocery experience on Amazon.in with a full range of assortment typically available in leading Indian supermarkets and powered with ultrafast deliveries. We operate in all key metros and top cities that contribute to bulk of online grocery in India. We are expanding and looking for a key leader who will help build the best in class experience for Fresh Produce category.

This is a critical category that drives both customer acquisition and retention and is a key pillar in our strategic plans. We are looking for a talented, driven and experienced Senior Category manager to lead this exciting charter. Joining the team means partnering with a dynamic and creative group who set a high bar for innovation and success in a fast-paced, challenging and competitive business.

The role will be responsible for managing and designing the customer experience, growth plans, drive differentiation and innovation charter for the category along with owning key inputs of selection and instock with stakeholder teams. We expect the individual to be a passionate customer and innovator within Amazon, with proven analytical capabilities and project management skills, master of data, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task. He /she is expected to drive projects and goals of high complexity outside of the above stated primary objective with significant autonomy and discretion while influencing product, seller and operations teams.

Key deliverables of the role :

- Build a best in class customer experience for the category at a city level

- Build customer insights for the category that would feed into the roadmap to improve customer experience

- Build a selection expansion roadmap optimizing for customer needs, sellout, freshness etc.

- Own quality metrics for the category and reduce customer contacts

- Be the functional leader in improving catalog quality and driving conversion/customer engagement improvement through catalog initiatives

- Build the innovation charter for the category across key dimensions that customers value like freshness, quality, taste etc.

Responsibilities :

The successful Category Manager must be able to :

- Act as the - business owner- for his or her categories, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact our business

- Have a thorough understanding of the industry, trends/events, and continually monitor competitor/industry developments

- Strong focus on customer needs, both existing and potential, and use that knowledge to deliver a customer experience that is unparalleled

- Identify new opportunities, develop and execute project plans,

- Coordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal and external parties, while meeting tight deadlines

- Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet goals

Basic qualifications :

- Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive results.

- Strong business judgment with a track record of successful negotiations and overall relationship management. 

- Ability to think strategically and tactically, with excellent attention to detail. 

- Passionate about the grocery sector in India. 

- Tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment. 

- Proven analytical thinking, project management skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills are essential.

Preferred qualifications :

A successful track record in the e-commerce/start-up/management consulting is preferred
