Program Manager - TOC  TOC Overview  - TOC (Transportation Operation Center) is the central command and control center for - Transportation Execution- across the Amazon Supply Chain network supporting multiple geographies like NA, UK, India and EU. It ensures hassle free, timely pick-up and delivery of freight from vendors to Amazon fulfillment centers (FC), from Amazon FCs to carrier hubs and from Amazon Delivery Stations to customers. In case of any exceptions, TOC steps in to resolve the issue and keeps all the stakeholders informed on the proceedings. Along with this tactical problem solving TOC is also charged with understanding trends in network exceptions and then automating processes or proposing process changes to streamline operations. This second aspect involves network monitoring and significant analysis of network data. Overall, TOC plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of Amazon transportation and thereby has a direct impact on Amazon's ability to serve its customers on time.  Purview of a Program Manager :  - A Program Manager facilitates flow of information between different stakeholders (Delivery Associates/Delivery Service Providers/Station Managers/Customer Service Associates) and resolves any potential issues that impacts customer experience and delivery performance.   - He/She provides timely resolution to the issue in hand by researching and querying internal tools and by taking real-time decisions.   - An ideal candidate should be able to understand the issue and be able to drive Customer Experience without compromising on time. The candidate should have the basic understanding of Logistics and should be able to communicate clearly in the verbal and written form.   - The candidate should be able to ideate process improvements and should have the zeal to drive them to conclusion.   - A Program Manager should be able to identify root causes of the network exceptions, propose and implement the solutions to knock them off. He/She should be able to scope out business and functional requirements for the Amazon technology teams who create and enhance the software systems and tools.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :  - Communicate with stakeholders (verbal and written) with a problem solving attitude.  - Understand the issue and make best use of the available resources to resolve the issue.  - Able to systematically escalate problems or variance in the information to the relevant owners and teams and follow through on the resolutions to ensure they are delivered. Should be the handling the escalations directed towards the team independently.  - Excellent communication, both verbal and written as the role will require to -  - communicate with the Customers, Customer Service Associates, Delivery Station Managers, Delivery Associates in real time.  - Create narratives outlining weekly findings and the variances to goals, and present these finding in a review forum.  - Ability to scope out business and functional requirements for the Amazon technology teams who create and enhance the software systems and tools are used by TOC.  - Owns regular reports and metrics, and ensures that they are properly completed and accurate.  - Performs initial analysis for review by more senior management. Should be comfortable working with data and is capable of identifying trends. Capable of representing the metrics during weekly business reviews.  - Manage a team of size 20-30, can increase further during peak.  - Address performance out-liers through coaching and feedback.  - Apply a balanced coaching style based on the individual and situation, use a question-based approach when coaching to influence and motivate; consistently provide specific, balanced, timely and actionable feedback.  Basic Qualifications :  - MBA/ Bachelor's degree/ with 5 years and above of people and operations management experience. Excellent communication skills - Verbal and Written  - Ability to pull data from databases (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other data management systems) and to create metrics reports.  - Logistics background and lean/six sigma training is a plus  - Should be creative and analytical problem solver with a passion to provide excellent customer service  - Demonstrated ability to work in a team in a very dynamic environment  - Should be flexible to adapt to support a 24- 7 operating environment  Preferred Qualifications :  - Master's degree in Operations /MBA with 5 years and above of people and operations management experience .
