The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, ability to execute a vision and manage operational efficiencies. A successful candidate in this role will be entrepreneurial, skilled in handling large volumes of data to derive insights to contribute to business strategy, and passionate about e-commerce and reading. This role requires coordination across various stakeholder teams to plan and execute multiple programs. You will be customer focused, entrepreneurial, a proven self-starter, and have the demonstrated ability to invent.
Within this Program Manager role, you will :
Manage content acquisition and publisher strategy for Kindle Unlimited and Prime Reading. These include securing content/books from vendors, owning profitability metrics and introducing new programs
Manage social media (including promotion and author events)
Work closely with leaders across the Kindle organization - locally and globally - in ensuring that we continue to develop new services and product offerings
Develop innovative promotional strategy for our programs and support its execution.
Basic qualifications:
- An MBA degree
- Ability to negotiate with vendors and influence leaders both externally and within Amazon
- Strong communication skills and assertive abilities on all levels, while maintaining your ability to be vocally self-critical and seek feedback
- Business focused thinking, an ability to focus on key issues and a strong hands-on results driven mentality
- Special affinity and demonstrated skill with numbers, analyses and reports
- Excellent knowledge in Excel, and database work, with experience in SQL a plus
Preferred qualifications:
Past account / distributor/vendor management experience.
Professional experience in e-commerce, sales, marketing, purchasing, key account management or consulting would be a plus
