DESCRIPTION : Amazon is seeking a Corporate Business Development (Corp BD) Leader to join the India team. This is a unique opportunity to join a centralized team that manages strategic partnerships across all Amazon businesses. As a Corporate Business Development Leader you will be responsible for generating, managing, and executing some of Amazon India's most complex and high impact partnership activities while having a strong technical aptitude to identify best in class partnerships for Amazon Web Services (AWS). This includes managing relationships and negotiations for partnership deals which are unconventional in nature, need a central advocate, and/ or have broader implications to Amazon and AWS in India. You will interact with senior leaders at Amazon India across several of Amazon's businesses: Amazon Web Services, Amazon.in, Kindle, Amazon Pay, Amazon Prime, Amazon Advertising and other businesses which Amazon might launch in India. This key role will be highly visible at the most senior levels of Amazon. You will need to work collaboratively with internal management teams to understand where our relative advantages or risks lie, if/ when major features are in existing roadmaps, and current trends around innovation, consolidation and customer adoption. We dive deep and provide thoughtful technical analysis, but are adaptable and action-oriented, focused on quickly gaining enough context to enable informed decision-making. Identifying and executing strategic partnerships is our primary objective. We are seeking an innovative, creative, analytical, technical and strategic thinker, who is passionate about Amazon and AWS's growth in India. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex problems, works effectively with senior cross-functional teams and thrives in a fast-paced setting that is constantly evolving. Corp BD is a small, tight-knit team that values authentic, strong willed individuals who think creatively and will proactively seek out opportunities to advance the growth initiatives of Amazon's businesses. Specific responsibilities include the following : - Support an India specific strategy that can evolve into a broad framework for entering into strategic partnerships and alliances. - Take the lead to identify, evaluate, negotiate, and manage partnerships that can involve marketing, content, commerce, and technology components. - Be a central point of contact for key strategic/ cross-Amazon partnerships in India. - Ability to assess technical feasibility for all our businesses. - Evaluate the economic and strategic cost-benefit of partnerships. - Lead cross-functional teams including Product, Operations, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Tax, Accounting, Corporate Development and senior management to execute on the relationships. - Develop best practices to foster, manage, and track opportunities. - Support the strategic objectives and interests of Amazon India's business teams. - Recommend investments in key strategic partnerships. Carry out valuation analysis and investment thesis/ themes. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS : - MBA/ MS from a top-tier B-School. - 10+ years of applicable experience in strategic business development, product management, investment banking, or venture investing experience - End-to-end negotiation experience, including identifying, developing, and executing successful partnerships such as large scale marketing deals, technical collaborations, complex digital media transactions, and strategic technology relationships. - Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively while applying sound business judgment and quantitative analytics. - Ability to manage and recommend strategic investment decisions. - Thought leader with a solid understanding of multiple industries and their intersection with commerce. - Excellent oral and written skills to communicate complex issues and influence others internally and externally. - Strong interpersonal skills and ability gain respect of senior management and external executives. - Ability to build and maintain a network of relationships which facilitate deal flow. - Self-starter who can excel in a fast-paced and fluid environment. - Competency with internet, mobile and cloud technologies. - Passion for big challenges and a good sense of humor.
