Business Analyst Manager

Global Catalog Operations is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Analyst to lead its Business Analytics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading complex data analysis projects, developing and implementing process improvements, and communicating findings and recommendations to senior management through data visualizations and reports. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the efficiency and performance of our operations. You will work closely with a talented and dynamic team to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize business processes through data-driven insights.

Key job responsibilities:

- Partner with technology leaders, program managers, operations leaders and internal stakeholders globally to identify, quantify and solve for opportunities to improve Catalog Quality.

- Define, measure and present metrics / reports on different programs and design new metrics and enhance existing metrics to support future business processes and ensure sustainability.

- Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon's data resources and use them

- Helping operations with regular and ad hoc query/ data ETL jobs and work on simplifying/ standardizing operational metrics and reporting

- Lead team of Business Analysts in effective decision making by retrieving, aggregating and synthesizing massive data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format. Drive insights and action we can take to improve the customer experience

- Analyze and solve business problems with focus on understanding root causes and driving forward-looking opportunities

- Lead team of business analysts to perform statistical tests to establish trends, patterns, seasonality. Use data mining, model building, and other analytical techniques to develop predictive models

- Establish relationship between output metrics and drivers to identify and control critical drivers to achieve the desired value of output metric.

- Ability to write functional specs for tools and drive UAT based on business requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience in SQL

- High levels of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information

- 3+ years of experience as a Business/Financial Analyst, BI Engineer or Systems Analyst preferably in an internet-based company with large, complex data sources

- 3+ years of team management experience

- Proficient in multiple flavours of SQL, (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redshift)

- Experience in data visualization platforms (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Quicksight)

- Ability to take complex business problems and translate into clear and accurate results

- Strong project management and people management skills

- Proven analytical and quantitative skills and ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root cause/ analyses

- Coaching and leadership skills that bring out the best of the team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- 5+ years of experience as Business/Financial Analyst, BI Engineer or Systems Analyst preferably in an internet-based company with large, complex data sources

- Experience working with business and operations teams with deep experience on existing systems and data sources

- Master's degree, MBA or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related business field.

- Track record of strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills. Must be able to explain technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to a wide audience, including senior executives, and be able to translate business objectives into actionable analyses and contribute to documents.
