We are looking for an Instructional designer, to be part of the Amazon Technical Learning Academics (ATLAS) program team. ATLAS is an immersive learning experience focused on grooming employee from non-tech (with a technical background) into tech roles at Amazon (i.e. SDE, QAE, SE). We seek a motivated Instructional Designer who possesses a unique balance of technical depth, business knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills. You will partner with key stakeholders across technology, HR & 3rd Party vendor teams to craft learning paths to educate internal Amazon participants on Amazon Technical Learning Academics (ATLAS program) and have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy for new educational content, services, and features.

The ideal candidate is a smart, innovative, driven, problem solving Instructional Designer with experience working across multiple instructional delivery modalities to create high-quality learning experiences that support our growing learning community. This role will work independently as an individual contributor and will require stakeholder management, adhering to Instructional Design standards as well as standards specific to the function they will own, owning the end-to-end curriculum lifecycle from analysis to evaluation, and continuously raising the bar on instructional integrity of our learning experiences.

The Instructional Designer will curate and design learning solutions that align with the needs of our users and guide them through their education roadmap. The role requires an individual who is knowledgeable in adult learning and instructional design strategies for performance-based outcomes, can innovate, move quickly, and not be constrained by how things have been done before. They will have the ability to manage multiple concurrent and interdependent tasks, experience working cross-functionally with requirements elicitation, and the ability to translate technical content into easy-to-understand training.

Specifically you will :

- Perform training needs analysis to support the performance tied to business and operation goals by partnering with business leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and other key stakeholders.

- Determine, recommend, and document performance objectives, project instructional standards, learner engagement strategies, and evaluation plan based on the business and learner needs.

- Design solutions including different modalities such as classroom training including activities, interactive eLearning, simulations, case studies, etc.

- Create course content including, but not limited to, measurable performance objectives, scenarios, simulations, audio scripts, progress checks, performance evaluations, reference glossaries, and assessments.

- Scope effort based on the solution design and use this as input to create schedules for projects.

- Gather, develop, and write content based on interviews with stakeholders and SMEs. Review content developed by other LXDs.

- Use tools such as Storyline, Xyleme, Questionmark, etc. for content development and support troubleshooting for technical issues.

- Monitor curricula to ensure the content is updated periodically and accurately

- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts across Corporate Tech Teams (including Developers, Support Engineers, Professional Services, and Solutions Architects) to curate and build technically accurate training that meets the learning objectives

- Build relationships with Engineering excellence teams to understand roadmaps and plan for content updates/new training

- Facilitate requirements gathering meetings with curriculum stakeholders to define the appropriate learning objectives, modalities and expectations

- Upload, test, and maintain content to an LMS.

- May work with vendors for larger programs to review the tool and training deliverables being created.

- Identify areas of continuous improvement to continually raise the bar for our learning experiences
