Business Analyst - TRMS  External Job Description   Have you ever thought about what it takes to detect and prevent fraudulent purchases among hundreds of millions of e-Commerce transactions in different countries- Amazon's Transaction Risk Management Services (TRMS) team is responsible for preventing fraudulent purchases across every Amazon product line. Fraud prevention is a real-money game where we strive to outsmart those who attempt to defraud Amazon and our customers.   Amazon is looking for an experienced business analyst to support our rapidly growing TRMS business. This is a visible role that will own TRMS's metrics related to bad debt and will have a direct responsibility to both the financial reporting and the business teams that support bad debt efforts. The successful candidate will have a strong sense of controllership and passion for data and diving deep in order to accurately view the data available to make key business decisions. He/she should be able to think creatively and work in a constantly evolving environment.   Responsibilities:  - Retrieving and analyzing data using SQL, Excel, and other data management systems.  - Develop queries for ad hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting   - Network and coordinate across teams to create data infrastructures and reporting solutions that enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.  - Own regular reports and metrics for all of bad debt to ensure that they are completed timely and accurate.  - Assess and continuously improve the reporting processes, including streamlining queries and optimizing the utilization of resources.   Basic Qualifications :  - A BS in Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Engineering or a related field with 2-4 yrs. of relevant experience   - Advance knowledge of SQL, Microsoft Excel, or other data management tools with prior data mining experience  - Experience researching, analyzing and summarizing data into impactful business cases   Preferred Qualifications   - MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or related field   - A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations  - Ability to identify opportunities to improve performance of existing systems and processes  - Experience participating in global processes and supporting reporting across time zones differences  - Strong interpersonal skills including written and oral communication   - Specific data experience with analyzing bad debt risk across multiple transaction types
