Area Manager
As Area Managers for our Fulfillment Centers (FCs) you will be responsible for direct people management experience in driving operational performance in a highly metric driven environment. You will also lead many process improvement projects, both for the site and the network, to drive enhancements in key shopfloor metrics, viz. Quality, Cost and Delivery. One of your key responsibilities will also be development of your team members. You must be flexible to work weekends and/or overnight shifts regularly.

Roles & Responsibilities
- As an Area Manager, your key responsibility lies in managing your shift and delivering key operational performance, measured through Quality, Cost and Throughput in every shift.
- On people front, the role entails recruitment and onboarding of Associates (Levels 1 to 4), their training and their deployment on the floor. Their success at work is a key deliverable for you.
- Performance on people aspect, viz. People Morale and People Safety, is also a key deliverable, and encompasses your success as an effective leader.
- Processes at Amazon are changed at a rapid frequency, in line with the changing customer needs. You will thus be responsible for effectively driving all such changes on the shopfloor.
- You will be required to take a larger responsibility of your team and assist the Operations Manager help develop them into the next level.
- Amazon believes in having hands on experience, to maximize the customer experience. In this pursuit, it is required that all managers spend their maximum on the shopfloor. This entails continual standing, walking across the FCs multiple times over and also the ability to work in construction /distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, not air-conditioned.
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Engineering from a reputed university
- 5+ years management experience in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment
- Management of a minimum of 15 employees (including payroll, performance management, work-flow assignment)
- Interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple FCs
- Key areas that you- ll always focus on are the safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity of your department.
- Review the work forecasts and determine your productivity requirements to produce during the day to meet the overall building objectives.
- Partner with other Area Managers to balance labor ensuring that you are operating a balanced and efficient shift while meeting all of your goals.
- Support all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates
- Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives and Lean tools
- Candidates from FMCG,Automobiles / Manufacturing and shopfloor background preferred.
