Head - Safety at Amara Raja Group

Strategic Responsibilities:

1.Maintaining & improving safety at the workplace

2.Establishing, implementing & maintain the safety systems & processes, and ensuring compliance to legal requirements

3.Deploying the safety systems and practices across units and ensuring their effectiveness

4.Developing teams at SBUs on safety systems and processes

5.Networking/liaisoning with Safety experts

6.Monitoring the updates of safety legal requirements and ensure the compliance

7.Participating in the Stratlign, Business plan/Budget & BSC development for the Group function and ensuring achieving the set targets

8. Spending quality time in grooming fresh talent, coaching people to the next level.

Operational Responsibilities:

1.Maintain ISO 45001

2.To evaluate the HIRA outcomes and facilitate in finding suitable operational controls at high-risk areas

3.Setting objectives & targets for the dept / OHSMS and providing direction to the teams in achieving them

4.Conducting safety reviews - and Identifying best practices/systems related to safety and implementing based on review & approval

5.Identifying the safety training and ensuring the required training and awareness are provided across the org at all levels

6.Driving the incidents investigation and implementing the corrective actions

7.Ensuring the lifting tools, pressure vessels are inspected at defined intervals and are in safe limits

Desired profile:

- Any Engineering degree with a recognized safety course.

- Minimum 15 years experience in industrial safety.

- Experience in liaisoning with government authorities.

- Knowledge in Risk assessment/management with good control over administrative policies & procedures.

- Working knowledge on all process activities and management systems on ISO 45001 & conflict management with leadership abilities

- Experience in Safety & Environmental Management systems, legal requirements, best safety practices in Mfg. Industry.
