Job Responsibility:
Statutory Reporting -
- The process involves closing the books and reporting the Financial Statements (Yellow Book) following the Insurance related Accounting Standards called as SSAPs.
- On monthly basis, the process involves running various reports which will check if any entry is posted incorrectly or any of the regulations have been violated.
- On Quarterly basis, Financial Statements along with supporting Schedules will be prepared. Analysis of Intercompany transactions is also additionally required to be worked upon.
Details of Accountabilities -
- Ability to mentor. Motivate and coach Team Managers.
- Ability to prioritize, manage and organize heavy daily workload between multiple teams.
- Strong customer orientation across multiple country locations/business segments.
- High Level Review of quarterly/annual Financials (Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cash Flows)
- Technical accounting like Business Combinations, ESOPs, Derivatives etc.
- Adapt to and assimilate with changes in insurance related regulatory requirements/GAAPs .
- Basic understanding of how insurance business works and earns income.
- Verify that procedures are updated at all times.
- Ensure that all operational and people management issues are dealt with in a timely manner
- Motivate teams and contribute to team spirit
- Evaluate team performance by following up on common objectives, reoccurring errors etc.
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Provide consolidated feedback for specific assignments to Management after liaising with other Team Leaders.
- Manage Training requirements, new migration , holiday planning,
Work experience background required( describe work exp of suitable candidates):
- C.A “must” requirement
- Must have experience from Insurance background
- High customer service orientation.
- Excellent People Skills
- Proactive – should be able to follow up on pending items rigorously and resolvee red flags when appropriate
- Problem Solving skills – should have an attitude to think of solutions to solve problems
- Understands the differences across GAAP/STAT rules
- Good experience with ERP - like SUN GL, Oracle
- IT savvy & proficient in excel/access
- 4-5 yrs of experience in leadership role managing multiple teams involved in closing and reporting of Financials.
- Expert Level accounting concepts
- High level attention to detail and accuracy
- Extremely good written English
- Communication – Extremely good voice skills for query resolution
- Excel Skills – advanced; Access Skills - intermediate
- Ability to work under pressure
- Passport – must to have,
Post CA Experience : 2-5
Shift Timing : 2 pm-11 pm
