Key Accountabilities & approximate time split (%)

Competency: Advanced

- Responsible for timely and accurate closure of financial books by analyzing and reviewing the financials

- Review Balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of key MI (Management Information)

- Review and presentation of key financials in LoR (Letter of Representative) meetings including consolidation of all IAR (Items at Risk) / BNR (Balances not reconciled) and taking ownership of action items

- Understand end to end flow from transaction initiation to disclosure in the financial accounts and notes to account, trade enrichment of the balance sheet.

- Review of various Group submissions including monthly / quarterly IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) reporting

- Ensure that appropriate transfer pricing/cost recharges between entities are conducted to ensure that the legal entity financials are properly reflected.

- Analysis of data, generate queries for trends / variances and gaps / inconsistencies and follow up to appropriate closure.

- Deal with product control and risk teams to ensure appropriate reporting and presentation of the P&L accounts and disclosure of the balance sheet accounts.

- Monitoring of capital levels and reporting of large exposures for different entities

- Review of various attestation packs to enable the senior management to carry the Sox requirements and obligations

- Supporting various FCA submission on Regulatory Reporting relating to RWA's (Risk Weighted Assets)

- Analysis of data, generate queries for trends / spikes and troughs and inaccuracies and follow up to appropriate closure

- Managing senior management stake-holders expectation as part of key strategic projects, advisory role to Front office and presentation to finance management in the Letter of Representation meetings.

- Support ad-hoc analysis

- Own the inter system mapping tables

- Production of Finance Operation KPIs.

- Support business request on deep dive analysis

New Product Accounting (NPA) & Advice - 10%

Competency Level: Intermediate

- Engaging in the New Product Approval process and confirm the accounting treatment including coordination with relevant ops team to ensure that new accounts are opened and appropriate entries are passed

Team Building - 30%

Competency Level: Intermediate to Advanced

- Support delivery of team objectives through effective team management and providing cover to team members on leave

- Leading, Guiding and Motivating the team

- Take responsibility for personal and team's performance development, training and career development plans and ensure they are relevant and progressed.

Person Specification

Essential:

- University Qualified (Bachelor of Commerce)

Preferred:

- Qualified Accountant

- Strong academic background - 1st /2nd class honours, minimum bachelor degree from a reputable institution

- Big 4 firms experience

Experience

Essential:

- 5 to 8 years of work experience

- Experience in financial reporting role, i.e. month-end closure including Balance sheet control and IFRS reporting at Legal Entity

Preferred

- Experience of having employed in Corporate or IB environment

- Enthusiastic, motivated, self-starter, pro active and a team player.

- Good IT System skills;

- Eye for detail and exception track record in managing and resolving conflict situations

- Ability to negotiate and influence senior management across the businesses

- Ability to build strong partnerships across the business with excellent stakeholder management

- Strong IFRS knowledge and its implications

- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with ability to think outside the box.

- Strong knowledge of financial statement disclosure

Preferred:

Experience of working in SAP financial accounting or investment banking middle-office / back-office accounting and settlement systems.
