Job Profile
EXPECTATIONS
1. Develop statistical and econometric models to support marketing efforts, such as customer segmentation, acquisition, retention and pricing. Programming and Modeling experience in SAS is mandatory.
2. Apply appropriate techniques, such as exploratory data analysis, regression, bootstrapping, trees, cluster analysis, survival analysis and so on.
3. Develop and articulate strategic recommendations based on rigorous data analysis.
4. Partner with Marketing product managers to understand business problems and marketing strategies. Partner with IT to implement models and test cases.
5. This role has a very limited scope of people management as the team encompasses of hands on modelers who independently work on a given business problem and assume the roles of problem architect, modeler, consultant depending on the need of the project.
TYPICAL OUTPUTS
1. Statistical, Econometric and Mathematical Modeling of the business problem into actionable solution.
2. Generation of key insights from Subscriber behavior towards telecom usage.
3. Stable and robust Lift / gain / performance / practicality of the Model’s.
4. Time to time validation of Model performance for stability and usability.
5. Frequent monitoring of the performance of the scores delivered to the users for their effectiveness.
6. Application of techniques in the area of social networks, web analytics, business forecasting, Uplift modeling.
7. Liaisoning with various departments to pursue the business benefits of data driven decisoning.
MANDATORY AND DESIRED SKILLS
1. Holds bachelors / master's degree in economics, finance, statistics, mathematics, engineering or a similar discipline, and has a strong quantitative background. Prefer IIT, ISI, DSE graduates and post graduates. (Mandatory)
2. Greater than 3 years of modeling experience. (Desired)
3. Experience with advanced statistical data analysis and modeling techniques including regression, clustering and Forecasting. (Mandatory)
4. Strong expertise in SAS programing and Modeling. (Mandatory)
5. Experience using relational database tools and understanding of SQL, capability to handle large data. (Desired)
6. Strong consultative skills in addition to quantitative ability. (Desired)
7. The ability to work independently with minimal direction. (Desired)
8. Out of Box thinking to develop / optimize the business solution (Desired)
