As the Head of Data, you will :
- Own and guide the overall data strategy (instrumentation, collection, processing, storage, privacy, security and responsible use)
- Attract, grow, and retain a team of world-class Data Scientists and Data Engineers
- Provide thought leadership in the areas of advanced data engineering and data science including integration, storage, governance, modelling, consumption, and visualization
- Develop and deploy a robust, distributed, scalable, realtime, state-of-the-art data and intelligence platform that will serve as the foundation of The Room's ability to solve data-driven problems and innovate novel product use-cases
- Quantify data initiatives and their results with a focus on ROIs to report back to the business
- Set standards for data security and trustworthiness across the organization and drive a culture of responsible use of data
- Work with leaders across Technology, Learning, Product, Design, Marketing and other teams to deliver data-driven solutions to address a growing range of problems including continuous user persona building, real time opportunity matching, and user cohort identification
You should have
- 15+ years of industry experience with R&D skills
- Masters degree or higher in Computer Science/Applied Mathematics/Statistics OR Bachelors in Computer Science with a Masters in Management degree
- Strong understanding of statistics, algebra, probability and mathematical optimization
- Strong record on technical publications in top tier conferences and journals and experience drafting and applying for patents in various jurisdictions
You should be experienced in;
- Building and managing large teams of data engineers & data scientists
- Driving and productizing data-driven solutions for product offerings
- Deploying machine learning at scale to solve real-world problems in real-time
- Developing and deploying solutions, and optimizing costs, on distributed computing frameworks such as AWS, Azure and/or GCP
- Data security protocols, access control, and security and privacy compliance frameworks like GDPR and its equivalents in other jurisdictions
- Managing teams distributed across geographies and time zones
