Alpha Alternatives - Research Analyst - Commodities

- Alpha Alternatives is a multi-asset class alternatives asset management platform based out of India and Singapore, with over Rs 12,000 crores of assets under management, and deep focus on alpha generation. We are passionate about finding alternative investment opportunities that can deliver superior risk-return characteristics. We operate across various alternative spaces like Commodities, Equities, Absolute Returns, Structured Credit, Fixed Income and Quant. Our products span across various investment structures such as AIF, PMS, NBFC and FPI.

- Our team consists of 170+ people who are vastly experienced across domestic and global hedge funds and financial institutions and have strong academic credentials at top universities.

- We are looking to hire a Research Analyst (Commodities) with a minimum of 1 - 3 years of work experience in Commodity Market Research. Location is Mumbai and this position will directly report to the Head of Research.

Qualification & Background :

1. 1-3 years in Commodity Markets preferably with a large corporate house.

2. Excellent academic credentials, with a preference for candidates holding a post-graduate degree.

3. Hands-on experience in the analysis of any commodity sector.

4. Previous work experience as a Research Analyst in the Commodity segment, specializing in fundamental research.

5. Basic understanding of demand-supply analysis in both domestic and global commodity markets.

6. Demonstrated high ownership and a go-getter attitude.

7. High energy and intellect coupled with strong analytical capabilities.

8. Possesses a research-oriented mindset.

The person shall be responsible for :

1. Data Gathering and Analysis : Create and manage a fundamental database with periodic long-term research outputs across Energy, Bullion and Base metals.

2. Analyse Supply and Demand patterns : Tap suitable secondary sources to get accurate commodity-specific supply & demand data points to help formulate a directional bias.

3. Market Intelligence : Must be able to keep up-to-date all relevant knowledge related to the global commodity markets.

4. Information and Communication : Must facilitate seamless flow of information and analysis from the Research Desk to the Trading Desk covering updated price trends

Compensation : Salary will be discussed individually with selected candidates and will be at par with industry norms. Compensation will have a significant element of performance-linked bonus.

- This will be a fulltime Work from Office role at our Mumbai office. Candidates from outside Mumbai must have clarity on relocating to Mumbai.
