Alpha Alteratives - Manager - HR Operations

Alpha Alternatives is a multi-asset class alternatives asset management platform based out of India and Singapore, with over 12,000 Cr of Assets under management, and deep focus on alpha generation. We operate across various alternative spaces like Equities, Absolute Returns, Structured Credit Commodities and Quant. Our products span across various investment structures such as NBFC, AIF, PMS, Investment advisory and Gift City.

Our team consists of 170+ people who are vastly experienced across domestic and global hedge funds and financial institutions and have strong academic credentials at top universities. We are strongly performance driven and look for people who share a similar DNA.

Key Responsibilities:

1. HR Process Management:

- Manage HR processes and policies, including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and offboarding.

- Continuously review and optimize HR processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

2. Compliance and Legal Matters:

- Stay updated on labor laws and regulations and ensure HR practices are in compliance.

- Manage HR-related legal matters, including grievances, disputes, and investigations.

3. Recruitment and Staffing:

- Collaborate with the recruitment team to streamline the hiring process.

- Ensure that job postings, interview processes, and background checks are conducted effectively.

4. Benefits Administration:

- Administer employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.

- Address employee inquiries and resolve benefit-related issues.

5. Performance Management:

- Support the performance appraisal process, including goal setting, feedback, and documentation.

- Assist in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans.

6. Employee Records and Documentation:

- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including personnel files and HR documents.

- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

7. MIS and Reporting:

- Generate and analyze HR metrics and reports to support data-driven decision-making.

- Provide regular reports to senior management on HR-related activities and outcomes.

8. Employee Engagement and Relations:

- Promote a positive work culture and employee engagement initiatives.


- Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

- 5-6 years of progressive HR experience with a focus on HR operations.

- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

- Experience with HRIS and other HR software systems.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

- Certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SPHR) is a plus.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive HR information.

- Adaptability and the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.


Salary will be discussed individually with selected candidates and will be best in the industry and will be of no constraint to the right candidate. In the long run, if one does well, will earn disproportionately higher value for self.

Location: Dadar, Mumbai.
