The primary responsibility of this role is to provide support to the Regional Head of AML and the local MLROs as it relates to the AML/KYC and CDD functions. Other responsibilities include ensuring that timely and accurate periodic reviews and ongoing monitoring is being conducted. Acts as a direct liaison with internal client servicing partners, and potentially regulators and auditors. Provides support for the rollout of the Global AML Program in APAC, acting as a local liaison with corporate partners on behalf of the Regional Head. Provides consultation and advice to partners regarding the interpretation of AML policies and procedures and compliance and risk avoidance. Responsible for overseeing the review, interpretation, and dissemination of current and proposed laws and regulations, supporting local MLROs in the gap analysis if required. Acts as MLRO for Singapore Branch.

Key responsibilities for the role :

- Leading the legal and compliance stream.

- Identifying legal issues and risks that may affect business.

- Providing legal guidance relating to the formulation and implementation of organizational strategies and policies.

- Mitigating compliance risks, implementing the legal and regulatory risk compliance program and to ensure that the c company business in India complies with local and international payments legislation and regulation.

- Centralizing the legal and compliance function and responsibilities that are deriving out of operational activities.

- Providing legal and compliance knowledge for any business mergers opportunities.

- Proper and timely reporting towards the Head of Compliance and General Counsel.

- Responsible for contact with regulators and our external partners.

- Dealing with the RBI that includes leading and drafting responses to regulatory requests for information, managing onsite inspections, drafting audit requests and responses, and responding to law enforcement requests for information

As Money Laundering Reporting Officer - Responsibilities

- Responsible for oversight of compliance with the FCA's rules on systems and controls against money laundering and for countering the risk that the firm might be used to further financial crime. It is specifically noted that these systems and controls must enable the firm to identify, assess, monitor and manage money laundering risk

- Responsible for monitoring the day-to-day operation of AML/CFT policies, and respond promptly to any reasonable request for information made by the FCA, NCA or any other law enforcement

- Responsible for establishing the basis on which a risk-based approach to the prevention of money laundering/terrorist financing is put into practice and review the approach on a regular basis

- Responsible for all the AML reporting requirements and operate within the required standards

- Responsible for ensuring that adequate arrangements are in place for the awareness and training of employees. In particular, training must be offered, of a high standard and the scope must be appropriate.

Key Requirements :

- The ideal candidate will be an experienced and independent individual with a strong background in fintech, credit & finance, payments who enjoys working in an international, dynamic, and diverse Internet environment.

- CAMS certification preferred

- Strong leadership and organizational skills

To have strong skills in the following areas :

- Expertise in Indian laws and regulations concerning payments products such as credit cards, debit cards, direct debit, eMoney, consumer credit and alternative payment methods.

- Experience in B2B and B2C financial institutions, fintech companies and credit institutions

- Expertise in local and international legislative initiatives like Data Protection, Sanctions, FATF, and AML.

- Extensive experience in dealing with regulators and supervisors.

- Strong management and team leadership skills.

- Experience in running legal and regulatory risk management and compliance programs.

- Strong communication skills and fluency in English (both written and oral).
