Alliance One - Regional Financial Analyst - CA/CPA

Job Purpose : Management Reporting: preparation of analytical reports on Asia operations including QAR (quarterly analytical reports), regional cash flows, sales and customer analytics and Flash Quarterly accounting: reporting entities local book figures for corporate reporting & consolidation in compliance with US GAAP and submitting various periodic SEC & SOX disclosure reports for Asia to corporate.

Strategic Planning & AOP: preparing consolidated Strategic Planning & AOP report for Asia, continuous monitor and analyze of variance between plan and actual.

Financial System development: finance project lead on implementing the new financial system for local entities.

Job Content and Duties :

Management reporting :

- Preparation of customer, crop, SG&A and other analysis report on Asia operation for regional/local management.

- Preparing and analyzing variances of sales, gross margin, Selling, General and Administration expenses (SG&A) and Balance Sheet for the Quarterly Management Presentation (QMP)

- Preparing monthly consolidated Asia Flash with variances analyzing to corporate planning department and monthly working capital forecast

- Monitoring and analyzing weekly cash flows from operations in asia, in order to minimize operating cycles days in coordination with origin teams

- Develop market by market comparable data between AOI & other competitors that can be used to identify areas of opportunity for AOI

- Preparing and updating reports on FX and options contracts taken for hedging local COGS & SG&A expenses.

- Coordinate with local accounting teams for reconciliation of local GAAP accounts with USGAAP where applicable

Quarterly Accounting :

- Reviewing the financial system and preparing journals to ensure correct reporting into the Corporate consolidation system such as reclassification of accounts, origin and department analysis and compliance with US GAAP

- Coordinating and reporting the local trial balance and US GAAP adjustments for entities in Asia to the Corporate consolidation system and preparing the necessary supplementary packages as required by Corporate reporting purposes

- Analyzing and reviewing queries from Corporate, regional managers, internal and external auditors. This involving extracting the necessary data from the financial system / communicating with relevant personnel

- Coordinating and consolidating operations results and reporting to Corporate

- Reviewing and submitting various SEC & SOX disclosure reports for entities in Asia.

- Review and monitor accounts receivable aging.

Strategic Planning & AOP :

- Reviewing and analyzing strategic planning and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) submitted by origins of Asia

- Preparing consolidated strategic planning and AOP for Asia and submit corporate planning reporting package which includes projection of sales, SG&A, EBIT, Economic profit and Area balance sheet

- Assist in preparation of strategic planning and AOP presentation with relevant analysis

- Monitoring of actual sales, GM & SG&A of Asia against AOP

- Provide periodic update to country managers on SG&A costs variance against the AOP.

- Presentation of analytical reports through power point using AI and Chat GPT

Financial System development :

- Coordinating new issues that arise from the new financial system, relating to business processes and reports, ensuring these issues are resolved and implemented efficiently and correctly

- Testing and signing off new business processes and reports before implementing these changes to the live environment

- Continuing involvement and ensuring accurate, streamlining and complete functionality of the new system

- Longer term involvement to align Corporate new financial system, SAP, in terms of business processes and data-migration.

Ad-hoc :

- Assisting in any ad-hoc requirements delegated by the Regional Finance Director such as :

a) New investment / Capex proposal analysis

b) Economic profit analysis on major customers

c) Standard costing review.

Job Competencies & Experience :

- CA/CPA/CIMA/ACCA qualifications

- Good accounting knowledge of basic accounting cycles, key controls, corporate reporting and US GAAP. Intermediate at Excel especially pivot-tables, data manipulation and formulas.

- Good analytical skills, from accessing and manipulating data to analyzing, asking questions and presenting.

- Possess a logical, methodical and initiative mind. Basic audit skills. Basic knowledge of database structures within a system.

- Accounting experience within an accounting/shared services environment, experiencing pressure and long hours at quarter ends, reporting/communicating with Corporate, direct reports and external auditors.

- System experience with SAP and/or implementing a new system to understand issues and accounting functionality.

- Auditing experience and preferably exposed to SOX compliance for US purposes.

- Good experience with Excel and variance analysis.

- Expertise in excel analytical tools and presentational tools including power points using the power of AI & Chat GPT
