Major Accountabilities (Describe the main results of the job to be achieved ):

- Plan, organize and implement activities directed towards the target groups: ophthalmologists as well as those on staff at key Centers of Excellence like hospitals and major institutions throughout India.

- Attainment of market share and profit objectives through optimization of portfolio structure / sales mix.To increase efficiency of all promotional activities through periodical cost/benefit analysis (sampling, efficiency of promotional inputs / trade promotions etc.)

- Maintain regular communication and support to the local sales organization in order to achieve best fit between global strategy and local marketing / sales tactics opportunities and actions and ensure proper execution.

- Create, propose and implement key brand promotional projects (e.g. mailing drives, advertising/promotional campaigns, briefing documents for sales force representatives, etc.) with Marketing Manager approval.

- Focus on marketing effectiveness through objective-oriented activity and measures planning, optimization of the activities and measures in line with strategies defined by marketing management through utilization of the entire marketing mix.

- Close insight into trade and distribution channel mechanisms through field visits, customer panels and relation to sales force.

- Work with logistics and supply chain to forecast and maintain adequate stock across the distribution channel.

- Responsible for identifying and recommending new promotion and or distribution channels that improve access to current and new users.

- Efficient timely and accurate reporting of Marketing activities, results, opportunities & exposures to Marketing Manager.

Key Competencies:

- Marketing Analytics: Understands key market indicators, trends and customer segments; understands process to develop demand model based on customer segments and align messaging and tactics which impact his/her brands. Routinely analyzes and applies data to generate a deeper understanding of the customer, brand and market; and effectively develops and applies analytical tools to make informed decisions to drive actionable and meaningful results.

- Brand Strategy: Integrates market and customer insights to develop impactful portfolio and brand plans that deliver on key metrics; maximizes sustainable business value through life cycle management; and applies the effective principles of financial management and pricing. Can accomplish primary marketing tasks; understands agency coordination/ management; understands forecasting; has internal marketing system knowledge; and understands scientific/ technical applications of products.

- Brand positioning and message management: Applies a winning brand positioning statement and ensures that brand strategies and messages reinforce competitive differentiation; and develops compelling and relevant marketing and communication strategies that drive demand and build loyalty. Understands brand positioning and why its important; understands campaign development process and focus of communication; has the ability to deliver appropriate messages to potentially different customers.

- Marketing Mix and Execution: Optimizes channel/ promotion mix across all brands and customers through effective advertising and promotion plans. Understands advertising and promotion principles, media outlets and ket target audiences, and has the ability to project ROI on marketing mix elements.

- Marketing and Sales Alignment: Develops alignment between marketing and sales functions to drive business results. Has fundamental knowledge of selling/ external environment and can align share of voice activities propotionate to sales and marketing capabilities.

Ideal Background:

- MBA or post graduation degree in Marketing, Economics or Medical Related Sciences.

- Some experience in sales function

- Experience in an international pharmaceutical company
