A. About Job

a. Overview - We are building a digital product for the 120+ million strong agriculture community, majority of whom have not used many digital products so far. WhatsApp is the first and only smartphone app that a lot of the users have used. A lot of obvious design choices related to UI/UX, Iconography, etc. for the urban audience don- t hold true for rural audience and therefore, design thinking in this space requires first principles approach. The audience falls in the confluence of B2C and B2B space due to the fact that most farmers and agri SMEs are essentially individually driven businesses. We- re looking for someone who understands (and willing to dive deep into) the design principles to design beautiful and easy to use digital products for the rural audience and wants to use their prowess to create large scale impact in a field that needs it the most. If someone is interested in just a chat, we- d be happy to get on a call and hopefully, get new ideas.

b. Responsibilities - Being a part of the founding team, your primary goals would be to

i. End-to-end iterative product design of new upcoming features

ii. Improve existing designs and workflows of the android application

iii. Improve key product conversion metrics

iv. Conduct extensive user research to understand users and their requirements

c. Compensation - The compensation will be a mix of salary (to cover basic expenses) and equity (through ESOPs). In addition to this, we can provide free accommodation. The founding team lives together in a society in Sector 76, Noida and it- d be a natural catalyst if the most critical team members live close by.

B. About Candidate

a. General Requirements - The ideal candidate would be someone who has

i. A strong understanding of design principles and experience of having designed products at a reasonable scale

ii. strong analytics skills to be able to include data into design decisions

iii. a deep empathy for the user and willingness to learn as much as possible about the farmers and how they can use digital products

iv. strong leadership skills to keep the team focused and motivated and ability to attract best-in-class design talent

v. strong communication skills to effectively understand and communicate business requirements and technical requirements

C. About Gramoday

a. Problem - The agriculture ecosystem is getting fragmented by the day leading to increasing levels of information asymmetry and transactions happening within existing connections. This leads to the need of a digital platform that can bind the community providing high-quality easily-accessible information and enable discovery for peer-to-peer transactions. At the same time, because of lack of enough data, there's near zero intervention of Data Sciences in the agriculture space.

b. Solution - Gramoday has developed a market network (social network cum marketplace) platform for the Farmers and Agri SMEs (Traders and Commission Agents) which facilitates social interaction around market information of agriculture commodities and enables discovery for peer-to-peer transactions.

c. Founding Team - The founding team consists of 3 people

2) Himanshu Solanki (ex-Data Scientist, Jabong and IITB - 15)

3) Ankit Gupta (ex-Software Engineer, Adobe and IITBHU - 13)
