Role definition for Assoc. General Manager - Sales Strategy :
- To be the Think-Tank for the Sales team by constantly developing new initiatives that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the department
- To act as the critical link between Sales and other linked departments (Marketing, Planning, Customer Care)
- To develop sales vision and agenda for each effective sales period
- To evaluate and optimize the effectiveness of the sales team by intelligent sales force allocation
- To review, plan and execute various incentivisation techniques and procedures
- To drive and vet alternate sales activities for the segment
- To ensure compliance & control of sites in the segment by constant monitoring of sales as a function - processes, pricing and deviations from the same
- To ensure Marketing and Customer Care support for each segment to deliver volumes
- To ensure constant tracking and response to competitor activity for the segment
Functional Mandate :
- To ensure Sales in the segments owned and deliver targeted toplines as per business plan by ensuring targeted sales volumes at approved price levels
- To create and develop channels for increasing width and depth of distribution pipelines
- To maximise Gross Contribution delivered at each segment and overall company level by optimising pricing and reducing deviations
- To develop and evolve an intelligent Sales Targeting process at a micro-level
- To enhance effectiveness of the Sales organization
- Evolving & executing sales strategies
KRA / Success Measures :
- Sales Value (Rs. Cr) and Volume achievement (Units) as per target. (Sales = Net Order Book)
- Achieving Targeted Speed of Sales (Units Booked per month) for each segment
- Contribution Margin of the segment
- Achievement of planned targets
- Increase in efficiency levels of the sales force (deals/manager/project)
- Development of new systems that reduce turn-around time for information access
- Effectiveness of new launches
- Functional sales initiatives
- Innovative product development
