AGM/DGM/General Manager - Government Affairs

Job Description

The Role & Key Responsibilities:

- Obtaining all regulatory approvals and ensuring compliance under various laws of the country and conducting status meetings / reviews.

- Develop and maintain good relations with various Govt. Agencies / Departments (Central, State & Local Govt.).

- Liaise with relevant government bodies efficiently in order to ensure expediting of formalities and document processing.

- Keep track of progress of interaction with each Govt agency and update / complete the formalities and clear any concerns / objections raised by Govt agencies.

- Prepare (in consultation with relevant Departments in the Company), Pre-budget and Post Budget Memorandum on various Policy and Procedural Issues.

- Direct the state and federal government affairs program to assure timely and accurate responses to legislative and regulatory requests.

- Strategize the approach for obtaining various approvals and process all application for Visa, permits, license applications, etc.

- Assess and analyze legislative and/or regulatory proposals to identify how certain provisions would impact business objectives, corporate positions, and advice the management on how best to respond to the issues.



Skills, experience and qualifications required:



- Experience of working for companies with global operations essential

- Understands international working culture/ style/ environment essential

- Candidates with automobile work experience essential

- Demonstrable strong relationship/ influencing/ networking with key government organizations essential

- Minimum 10-15 years of work experience in Government Affairs/ similar relevant roles desirable

- Knowledge of automotive tariffs and duties, especially import duty desirable

- Effective communicator with excellent negotiation skills, strong analytical power & abilities in planning & managing resources. desirable

- Corporate social affairs knowledge desirable

Experience: 10- 15 years
