Position Overview:

As an Advisor - Industrial Relations, you will play a crucial role in providing strategic guidance and expertise on industrial relations matters to a large group operating multiple factories across India. You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective industrial relations strategies, ensuring compliance with labour laws, fostering positive employee relations, and resolving conflicts to maintain a harmonious work environment. Your primary objective will be to facilitate productive dialogue between management and employees, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and Implement Industrial Relations Strategy:

a. Develop and execute a comprehensive industrial relations strategy aligned with the organization's objectives and labour laws.

b. Monitor and analyse industry trends, legislative changes, and emerging issues related to industrial relations to ensure proactive compliance.

2. Ensure Compliance with Labour Laws:

a. Stay up to date with relevant labour laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

b. Collaborate with legal and HR teams to ensure policies and practices adhere to labour laws and maintain statutory compliance across all factories.

3. Foster Positive Employee Relations:

a. Promote a positive work culture by building and maintaining constructive relationships between management, employees, and trade unions.

b. Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to enhance job satisfaction, productivity, and overall employee well-being.

4. Conflict Resolution:

a. Mediate and resolve industrial disputes, grievances, and conflicts between management and employees in a fair and impartial manner.

b. Conduct investigations and provide guidance on disciplinary actions, terminations, and other employee-related issues while adhering to legal requirements.

5. Collective Bargaining and Negotiations:

a. Act as a key liaison between management and trade unions, leading collective bargaining negotiations and facilitating the resolution of disputes.

b. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and negotiate collective agreements that balance the interests of both parties.

6. Stakeholder Management:

a. Build and maintain strong relationships with government authorities, trade unions, and other external stakeholders.

b. Represent the organization in labour-related hearings, inquiries, and meetings with regulatory bodies.

7. Industrial Relations Policies and Procedures:

a. Develop, review, and update industrial relations policies, procedures, and documentation.

b. Communicate and train management and employees on industrial relations policies and procedures to ensure consistent understanding and compliance.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Master's degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Proven experience as an Industrial Relations Specialist, Advisor, or a similar role, preferably in a large organization with multiple factories.

- In-depth knowledge of Indian labour laws, industrial relations principles, and best practices in India.

- Strong understanding of collective bargaining, dispute resolution, and negotiation techniques.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.

- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and trends to drive effective decision-making.

- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

- High ethical standards, integrity, and confidentiality.
