About Us:

Advanced Veterinary Care Foundation (AVCF), is a registered company under Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013 that was set up by Tata Trusts in 2018 to build and operate a state-of the art veterinary hospital in Mahalaxmi, Mumbai. AVCF will be responsible for setting up and managing the first of its kind veterinary hospital with the aim of providing approachable expertise in the field of veterinary care for small and companion animals. The proposed hospital will be situated at G.B.Sakpal Marg, Mahalaxmi, Mumbai, on land owned by MCGM. The hospital will have comprehensive treatment facilities including 24-7 emergency services, in-patient facilities and diagnostics capability and being a front runner in the field of veterinary care, AVCF aims to be a recruiter of choice amongst professional veterinarians.

Job Description:

- The Head of Operations (HoO) for AVCF is an integral member of the founding team who will work within the leadership team ensuring the successful setup, delivery and execution of the veterinary hospital project.

- She/he, must be able to formulate, implement and assist with execution of significant strategic, operational, and cultural agendas required for setting up the operations of AVCF, including ideation to successful execution, managing important relationships and stakeholders for the benefit of the organization, simplifying tasks and anticipating work to effectively manage then project to fruition.

- The role will then require capable steady management of the hospital as we progress through the opening stages moving into a mature functional hospital.

- Set comprehensive goals for the hospital for both performance and growth

- Design business strategy and plan procedures to achieve this.

- Establish policies promoting our culture, values and vision

- Oversee the daily operations of the project and then the hospital

- Lead employees to deliver their optimum performance

- Evaluate performance using data-driven methods

- Write and submit reports to the CEO and ensure production of monthly board agenda

- Relationship management internally with staff and also with our complicated network of external stakeholders which includes veterinarians, architects, project partners, NGOs as required; seeking new and appropriate contacts and partnerships with relevant individuals or organisations.

Skills and Competencies:

- Experience of leading large hospital operations or similar role

- Experience within medical sectors (veterinary or human) preferably within a hospital environment

- Startup mindset able to work at pace with uncertainty, happy to take appropriate leaps of faith when necessary.

- Clear understanding of legislatory and governmental challenges a capable operator within the Mumbai eco-system.

- Robust understanding of core business functions (HR, Finance, Marketing etc.)

- A robust analytical skill set, able to set and manage KPIs, OKRs and other performance monitoring metrics.

- Strong organisational and leadership capabilities

- Strong decision-making capability.

- Ability to work in a matrix structure as well as a hierarchical structure

- Commitment to foundations core values, mission and programs core values

- Post graduate degree in Hospital and/or healthcare management will be an added advantage.

- Fluent in both English, Hindi and Marathi.
