Role:  - Zonal Manager will be responsible for overall sales growth within all the regions assigned to him.   - Zonal Manager directs, manages, guides and motivates team of Regional Managers & Area Managers within his zone.  - He will be responsible for setting and achieving annual sales goals and targets for his zone.  - This high level management position must exemplify the companys philosophies, execute the general strategies, and achieve business goals by aligning the understanding of the sales team with companys vision and mission.  - He will undertake a hands-on role in formulating and executing wide range of B2B marketing plans and activities.  - He will be responsible for the creation, coordination and implementation of effective marketing and communications plans aligning market dynamics and company objectives.  - He will develop effective sales tools and work alongside the management team in identifying potential and new market opportunities.  - To create long term sustainable business model and develop strategies in coordination with Senior Management  Responsibilities:  Planning Company's Sales Campaigns:  - Zonal Sales Managers are responsible for the development of an operating plan for establishing sustainable sales in his zone. This will include conducting market analysis on the zone, coordinating for marketing efforts, and getting access to resources to maximize the efficiency of the sales force.  - Consulting and Collaborating with Company Executives:-  - Zonal Sales Managers will be responsible for effectively communicating and translating the goals of the senior management to the sales force. He will also communicate the needs of the sales force to the senior management. Zonal Manager will report a variety of things, including: new projects, progress towards goal achievement, sales forecasts, sales revenue, and various other business-related requests.  - Proactively Reviewing the Outcomes of the Company's Sales Efforts:-  - Zonal Managers must always look for ways to improve on the sales process of the company for continuous growth and incremental market share. As a result, he must constantly evaluate each and every sales campaign to see what new opportunities are available in the region, seek referrals from customers, and foresee what can be done better for the next time.  - He will provide leadership for those reporting to him. This is done by clearly communicating the mission and goals of an organization to direct reports and creating and implementing strategies for those in the region to accomplish them.  - He would routinely analyze various direct reports to assess the progress of the business, creating action plans for resolving negative issues.  - He reviews the performance of Area & Regional Managers. Additionally, provides coaching, including soft skills and technical training, for the purpose of assisting employees in improving their performance.  - Work in close cooperation with all key functions (Operations, Logistics and Finance) and help to maximise the capabilities of the business.  - Prepare and maintain regular regional goals, action plans and performance reports.  - Approves regional budget and monitors operations are carried out within the established limits.  - Monitors competitors activities and trends within the zone.  Developing the Skills of the Sales Team:  -Develop, facilitate and implement the training programs and incentive schemes that will motivate the sales force to do well. Additionally, Zonal sales manager outlines the department goals and collects forecasted goals for all of the salespeople in the zone.  Facilitating Training for Salespeople:  - Zonal manager will mentor salespeople and offer advice and/or resources to his senior team members. Zonal sales manager will assist in the "closing" of sales deals wherever necessary.  - Smoothly Implementing Technological Changes:-  - Another responsibility of Zonal Sales Managers is the successful incorporation of new technologies smoothly all across their sales force.  - Ensures R&D and Operations work in tandem on development of innovative new products based on customer feedback.  Educational Qualification:   - Bachelors in any stream, preferably Science.  - A diploma/degree in engineering, business administration or marketing.  - MBA in Sales & Marketing is a must.  Experience:  - A minimum 8 years successfully delivering sales results in a comparable B2B environment.  - International experience is desirable.  - Must have experience managing a sales force of 20 to 25 sales representatives in multiple cities.  - Experience in chemical industry would be an added advantage.  - Demonstrable experience in successfully implementing major strategic improvement projects inside the sales team.  - Proven people skills with effective experience in training, managing, mentoring and evaluating direct sales reports.  - Solid field sales experience, gained within a highly competitive B2B environment.  - Minimum of 50% travel is required and expected.  Assigned Task Description:  Reports, Plans & Proposals:  - To monitor daily sales and payment collection/ debtors reports generated within his zone.  - Reviews the actual performance within his zone and advices corrective measures to handle negative deviations and take wisdom from positive deviations for future course of action.  - Providing update to Senior Management on daily basis on Sales, Collections, Projected Sales and receivables. These reports should clearly highlight matters which need urgent attention and solutions.  - Reviews and approves short and medium term Zonal Marketing Plan in consultation with Regional Manager including Sales & Expense budget with monitoring mechanism.  - Reviews and approves monthly and quarterly targets for his zone.  - Proposes long-term marketing strategies for the organization.  - Proposes other business propositions which fall in line with Groups business and strategic objectives.  - Proposing productive partnerships and associations with local and international organizations for long term sustainable business growth.  Sales & Market Research:  - Monitors sales progress within his zone and steps in to resolve issues or to provide direct impetus to sales growth.   - Process Market Intelligence provided by the Regional and Area Managers and translates it into specific marketing strategies aligned with company's objective.  - Monitors sales and marketing activities in allocated zone through various reports and communicating with Area & Regional Managers.  - Developing new products (or customization of existing ones)with the help of Technical team and based on the inputs from his zone.  - Prepares periodic pricing for different regions.  - Approves discounts if any to be offered to customers.  - Participates in tender bids within his zone.  - Provides insights to his team and customers on company's future plans and offerings.  - Approves marketing and sales tools to be used by his team.  - Establishing and maintaining one to one contact with all customers and prospects (from time to time) in his zone through tele conferencing and regular travel.  - Maintaining direct contact and relationship with various channel partners and ensure they continue to add value to our business. Resolve any issues with them and provide feedback to Global Sales Head related to their performance.  Customer Relationship Management:  - By suggesting new developments and customizing products for important customers in the zone. Working with the Technical Expert Team on this.  - Recommends Brand enhancement activities in the form of trade and technical seminars and meets.  - Must have one to one contact with all the important accounts within his zone.  - Ensuring departmental capabilities (Logistics, Accounting, Finance) of the organization are continuously updated to correspond with the scale of operation so that customer can have high quality service experience.  Payments & Debtors Management:  - Monitor on daily basis payment collection reports.  - To ensure smooth functioning of payment reconciliations with the Accounting/Finance department by way of daily monitoring of reports and weekly inter-departmental meetings.  - Recommends Credit Limit for Customers within his zone to the Global Sales Head.  - Step up efforts for recovery of any short payments or overdue payments by directly getting involved in matters of concern.  - Recommends Debtors control mechanism and ensures it is strictly followed by monitoring daily reports.  Travel Requirements:  - Will travel 10 days in a month in his zone to meet current and prospective clients and review performance of his Area and Regional Managers  HR & General Management:  - Organizing and managing managerial and administrative activities, including selecting and supervising regional & area managers, monitoring their performance and effectiveness:  - Building, guiding, motivating & supervising Regional and Area Managers.  - Recommending role & responsibilities, job description & KRAS of team members to the Global Sales Head with the help of HR department  - Motivating and recommending incentives for team members based on their productivity and performance.  - Providing guidance to HR on performance standards and policies and procedures for the department.  - Evaluating performance appraisals of Regional Managers, Area Managers and other team members.  - Approving training and development requirement for his team members and co-ordinate with HR to impart requisite training wherever possible or else outsourcing the same.  Coordination:  - With Operations and regional heads on product development needs by analyzing feedbacks received from the customers.  - To act as a conduit between marketing and other departments for smooth operations and functioning. Resolving any issues which need urgent attention  - Tracking marketing back office operations through regular interaction with team members and monitoring reports to ensure that departmental processes, procedures, service delivery and records management are uniform, consistent and efficient.  - Co-ordinates with Trade bodies and other Governmental and Non-governmental agencies regarding matters related to business in the zone.  Others:  - Representation of company in various National and International related conferences, seminars and Exhibition within his zone.  - To maintain cordial relationships with other industry professionals through attending and participating in various industry forums and associations.  - Performing any other project assigned by the management.
