Job Purpose - Plan, organize, control and supervise finance & accounting activities for effective control & planning for enhanced business results while ensuring timely statutory compliances, Audit facilitation, Cost control & reductions.
Accountability:
- To create a contemporary and systematic financial database and reporting process is in place, generating timely valuable MIS to support decision making and achieve the business goals
- Accounting and Reporting - to ensure data integrity for all accounts and comply with group/statutory reporting requirements by Laws and shareholders, take prompt remediation actions as addressed in management letter by external auditor.
- To assist the CFO in the Planning and Budgeting process by working on details of performance targets to be set for various businesses consistent with SBU aspirations
- To prepare long-range Financial plans for each of the SBU / business/units in consultation.
- To develop and keep updated communications around Positioning, Performance, Outlooks and strategy for Investors / external stakeholders
- Designing cost systems and controls and streamlining the accounting process, cost reduction measures
- Regular tracking and analysis of competitors financials and operating parameters.
Key Result Areas -
1. Finance & Accounting - Organize and control the Finance & Accounts activities to ensure compliance of financial systems & facilitate timely closing of company accounts.
- Periodically review books of accounts and financial reports and finalize Quarterly, Half Yearly & Yearly Balance Sheets, P & L and other compliances
- For any significant changes in accounting & taxation structure, formulate & implement various SOPs to develop adequate internal control systems and ensure Corporate Governance and IFC Compliances
- Explore innovative ideas and standardization with other units and value add in F&A system by sharing & adopting group best practices
- Interact and coordinate with Auditors for finalization of Financial Statements and Cost Audit reports
- Ensure timely preparation of accounts and review of general ledger/subsidiary ledgers, analysis of expenses and reconciliation
- Monitor completion of all accounts
2. Working Capital Management: Effectively manage Working Capital in order to minimize interest cost
- Review cash flow and supervise day to day fund management in coordination with Banks
- Analyze Financial performance of customer and past performance and recommend fixation/revision Credit limit accordingly
- Arrange Channel Financing for Customers to reduce company's working capital
3. MIS, Planning & Budgeting & Capex:
Ensure timely preparation of MIS, Financial, Planning & Budgeting, evaluation of Capex and other reports for effective & timely decision making by Management.
- Check, review & analyze MIS, MPR & Target reports
- Coordinate with other functions and collect data for finalization of Budget for next 3 years during Planning & Budgeting exercise
- Evaluate new Capex proposals and examine financial viability of the proposals
- To convene Capex review meetings periodically to ensure timely completion of projects.
- To prepare & analyze variance analysis reports & submit deviations to the Management for decision making
4. Direct, Indirect Taxation and Commercial laws: Ensure timely and accurate compliance with various laws and explore and avail all Incentives and Tax benefits
5. Business Continuity Risk Management and Insurance: Timely preparation & coordinate review of various risks and prepare effective mitigation plans thereof and ensure full coverage of risk with minimum premium outgo
6. Process Improvement & Statutory Compliances: Ensure compliances of relevant statute of the Department as well as implementation of relevant CFD SOPs
7. System Management (Safety, Sustainability & WCM): To facilitate roadmap implementation of Safety & Sustainability sub-committees so as to improve compliance levels
