Responsibilities :
- Understanding company's business model, evaluating market size, identifying growth drivers, analyzing trends, SWOT analysis, competition position to prepare due diligence decks
- Benchmarking companies on various financial and operating parameters to understand industry growth and profitability
- Investment Memorandum/ Due diligence documents: Creation of Investment memorandums, identifying key investment highlights & concerns, market opportunity, financial analysis, product analysis, arriving at potential valuation of the target company, return & sensitivity analysis
- Familiarity with the analytical methods used in the start-up ecosystem like unit economics and cohort analysis a plus
- Financial analysis, including but not limited to :
a. Analyzing financial statements to check various trends
b. Comparing performance of companies during business cycles
c. Ratio analysis, identifying relevant KPIs of the industries
- Financial Modelling : creation and updation of detailed financial models including DCF, M&A, LBO Models, trading & transaction comps, valuation analysis via different techniques
- Conducting industry research
- Identifying emerging and high-growth sectors for investment assessment through market analysis such as market size, historical and projected growth rates, emerging market trends, key drivers, etc.
- Portfolio company monitoring: Periodic tracking of business and financial performance indicators of portfolio companies and benchmarking those with their peer group for timely identification of upside and / or downside triggers
- Conducting quality check on projects
Required Background :
- Experience of 4 - 6 years in investment due diligence, industry research, financial analysis, valuation, and benchmarking. Experience in emerging technology (Fintech) a prerequisite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in client management
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office products, such as, Power Point, Excel and Word to deliver the desired output in a creative manner
- Strong business fundamentals and knowledge of business analysis skills
- Strong problem solving abilities and analytical thinking skills, as evidenced by extensive experience in utilizing those skills in research and consulting environment. Adept at synthesizing information to generate insights
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines
- Proven Project Management skills including Project structuring, planning, conceptualizing output, cross reviewing team's work.
- CFA / MBA from a top tier business school would be an added advantage
