Actuarial Manager - Statutory Valuation - Life Insurance

We are currently retained by a well-established Insurance company to hire an Actuarial Manager-Statutory valuation for them.

The role will perform monthly valuations as per Indian GAAP, solvency margin calculations, data issue resolution, DCS tool maintenance, and preparation of IRDAI submissions. Additional responsibilities will involve asset share roll-forwards, bonus calculations, audit support, assumption reviews, process standardization, and IFRS 17 implementation support.

Please note: Candidates only from Insurance background will be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities :

- Perform monthly valuations per Indian statutory requirements, prepare summary reports, and explain reserve movements.

- Conduct monthly and quarterly solvency margin calculations as per IRDAI.

- Identify and resolve life policy data issues with IT/Admin.

- Maintain DCS tool, valuation data, compliance controls, and audit checks.

- Prepare quarterly and annual IRDAI submissions (ARA, AAAR, Actuarial Forms, public disclosures).

- Manage asset share roll-forwards for Par business profitability and reserves.

- Calculate declared bonuses and support WPC committee requirements.

- Address queries from Peer Reviewer, Statutory Auditor, and IRDAI on reserves and solvency.

- Annually review and update best estimate valuation assumptions based on experience analysis.

- Reconcile model assumptions and cash flows in spreadsheets.

- Standardize and document analysis processes.

- Support IFRS 17 implementation.

To fit the bill, you must have:

- Bachelor's degree with minimum 5 actuarial exams cleared.

- 4-6 years' experience in life insurance valuation.

- Proficient in advanced MS Excel, VBA, and R programming.

- Knowledge of Actuarial software like Prophet and DCS.

- Prior knowledge of IFRS17 preferred.

- Strong analytical and data management skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple projects.

- Good communication and business skills.
