Acme United - Senior Product Specialist/Product Specialist

Acme United (Asia Pacific) Limited. is a subsidiary of a U.S. publicly listed company. We are specialized in cutting devices, measuring instruments and safety products in the school, home, office, hardware & industrial markets. As part of our expansion plan, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the following position:

SENIOR PRODUCT SPECIALIST/PRODUCT SPECIALIST

He/she will be reporting directly to the Senior Director, Asia Product Management in Hong Kong with the following responsibilities & requirements:

Responsibilities:

- Identify, source and develop new vendors and reliable direct sources of supply in India

- Monitor day to day operation including supplier management, product specifications & RFQ, sample management & verification, factory audit, on time shipment & quality assurance for all direct and indirectly sourced India products

- Oversee appropriate quality control including local factory and 3rd party product testing to ensure product standards and overall item regulatory compliance.

- Lead a quality management mechanism with QA program and report to review the performance of the vendors

- Lead and drive for the conclusive results of root cause analysis and corrective action, with product and new product development teams

- Evaluate vendor performance and optimize the vendor matrix

Experience and Qualifications:

- Bachelor/Master degree in a Science, Engineering or related discipline

- At least 5 years + of experience in the cutting & safety categories

- Strong product knowledge on First Aid and Safety medical supply is preferred

- Strong knowledge in supporting North America & European retailers orders requirements

- Strong factory base and knowledge of manufacturing

- Knowledge of global regulatory issues impacting sourcing broadly inclusive of social compliance / factory level issues as well as product specific topics (Ex. Wood products; Medical, etc)

- Knowledgeable in various Audits requirements (FDA, CE, GDP, GMP and all relevant ISO standards)

- Demonstrate the key competencies like independent, strong analytical mind, mature, tactful, good interpersonal communications skills, good problem solving skills and good sense of priorities

- Willingness to travel and work in a global team set up
