Acme United - Product Manager

Acme United (Asia Pacific) Limited. is a subsidiary of a U.S. publicly listed company. We are specialized in cutting devices, measuring instruments and safety products in the school, home, office, hardware & industrial markets. As part of our expansion plan, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the following position:

PRODUCT MANAGER

He/she will be reporting directly to the Senior Director, Asia Product Management in Hong Kong with the following responsibilities & requirements:

Responsibilities:

- In collaboration with the Global marketing and supply chain teams, the Product Manager defines and implements the companys sourcing strategy across his/her categories for Asia (non-Greater China, not including China, HK, Macau and Taiwan) supply base

- Identify, source and develop new vendors and products in the region

- The Product Manager needs to build from the scratch for the start-up. Monitor day to day operation including supplier management, product development, quote sheets, sample verification, payment terms negotiation, on time shipment & quality assurance

- This role directly supervises a team of product specialists/quality inspectors/supply chain planner across his/her categories after building the substantial level of sourcing base and revenue

- Manage the product cost negotiations with vendors and identify cost savings initiatives

- Evaluate vendor performance and optimize the vendor matrix

Experience and Qualifications:

- Bachelor/Master's degree in a business, marketing or engineering

- At least 8 years + of experience in Product Management roles, previous experience in a buying office preferred

- Experience in the cutting & safety categories

- Strong product knowledge on First Aid and Safety medical supply is preferred

- Strong trade record in Asia sourcing (not including China) especially in ASEAN countries

- Strong knowledge in supporting North America & European retailers orders requirements

- Strong factory base and knowledge of manufacturing

- Good track record on sourcing, price negotiation, ability to deliver the results to achieve required yearly cost savings objectives, proven track record of cost reduction

- Knowledge of global regulatory issues impacting sourcing broadly inclusive of social compliance / factory level issues as well as product specific topics (Ex. Wood products; Medical, etc)

- Knowledgeable in various Audits requirements (FDA, CE, GDP, GMP and all relevant ISO standards)

- Strong communication and experience to work with multi stakeholders within the group

- Strong leadership skills, excels at leading a multifunctional team to deliver results

- Demonstrate the key competencies like independent, strong analytical mind, mature, tactful, good interpersonal communications skills, good problem-solving skills and good sense of priorities

- Fluent in spoken and written English

- Proficiency in MS Excel and Word Processing

- Willingness to travel and work in a global team set up
