Accretive Health, a public company with approximately 2,800 employees, is a leading provider of revenue cycle services that helps healthcare providers achieve results through an integrated approach utilizing proprietary end-to-end revenue cycle management service offerings and physician advisory services.

We are seeking an experienced professional with specific expertise and background in health care compliance, enterprise risk management, and revenue cycle operations for hospitals and/or health systems. This Senior Manager of Compliance will be based in our Gurgaon, India shared services center (BSO) and will report directly to the Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer based in the Chicago, Illinois (U.S.) corporate office. This individual will be expected to serve as a front line leader in monitoring, educating on, and promoting compliance across Accretive Health's operations in India and will work closely with the U.S. compliance team in furthering these efforts to drive an optimized and standardized model focused on ethical practices and excellent customer service.

Further, the successful candidate will play a leading role in developing the company's overall compliance and ethics program, including ongoing assessments and evaluations of the program's effectiveness and opportunities for additional growth. In addition, this individual must have demonstrated ability and comfort working with and reporting to a broad spectrum of service lines and professionals, ranging from senior management to front line site and service leaders to clients and vendors.

The Senior Manager of Compliance, in coordination with the U.S.-based compliance team and India leadership team, will:

- Serve as a subject matter expert and leader in providing and communicating guidance and direction on compliance-related laws, regulations and guidelines affecting BSO management and employees

- Develop policies and control checklists to ensure consistent processes and outcomes

- Perform routine risk assessments to identify and, subsequently, reduce or mitigate compliance risks

Lead enterprise risk management efforts (ERM) for the BSO, including:

- Innovation and governance necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor the company's operational and strategic risk

- Development of ERM tools, practices, and policies to analyze and report enterprise risks, and to manage risks according to an ERM framework

- In conjunction with the U.S.-based Manager of Risk Management, ensure the organization's risk management policies and strategies are in compliance with applicable regulations for the BSO

- Providing key input for the company's ERM efforts and ensures BSO alignment with organizational objectives

- Assisting the U.S.-based Manager of Risk Management in responsibilities relating to Insurance, Risk Management and/or Business Continuity planning activities for the organization as related to the BSO

- Coordinate with Compliance, Information Technology (IT) Security, and Internal Audit leadership to ensure close oversight of the IT Security Management System

- Monitor to ensure that all appropriate employees and management are knowledgeable of, and comply with, defined policies, processes and standards

- Collaborate with other departments to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution

- Maintain records of compliance activities, including any complaints or investigations, and report out all relevant metrics to U.S.-based compliance leadership and other key stakeholders to ensure areas of potential risk to the company are identified and addressed

- Work with the Compliance and Human Resources Departments, and others as appropriate, to develop and disseminate all Compliance and Ethics training program materials, including appropriate introductory training for new employees and ongoing training for all employees and managers

- Develop policies and programs that encourage managers and employees to report suspected fraud and other improprieties without fear of retaliation

- Ensure compliance with privacy practices and consistent application of sanctions for failure to comply with privacy policies for all individuals in the organization's workforce, extended workforce, and for all business associates, in coordination with Legal, Human Resources, and other key stakeholders

- Build strong relationships with employees and clients to promote trust and respect by demonstrating exemplary leadership and deep subject matter expertise

- Attend and/or lead, as requested, company and client committees and workgroups as related to the position's core responsibilities

Required Experience and Qualifications:

- Five or more years- experience in the U.S. healthcare industry, including in a healthcare legal, compliance, or audit role with specific experience in:

a) Reviewing and providing regulatory guidance to operations, revenue cycle and finance management, and other key stakeholders

b) Assessing/auditing and monitoring healthcare operations

c) Conducting enterprise or organization-wide risk assessments and reviews

- Excellent analytical skills and exposure to risk management tools, methods & framework

- Detailed knowledge in Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management and/or Risk and Compliance

- Detailed knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and practices regarding or relating to health care regulatory compliance issues

- Strong knowledge of hospital/health system and physician revenue cycle management and operations, including reimbursement, documentation requirements, and auditing

- Ability to persuade others to adhere to standards & enforce policies and reduce risk;

- Excellent knowledge of MS-office;

- Proven success at building relationships and credibility quickly with key stakeholders and subject matter experts in relevant service lines;

- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;

- Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to work in an independent manner;

- Bachelor's or master's degree, with relevant work experience in health care compliance, legal or other related disciplines

- Ability to travel to United States, approximately 1-2 times/year
