Accounts Manager - Charted Accountant

Chartered Accountant

Reports To: The Chartered Accountant (CA) will report to the CEO.

Job Overview:

- The CA is tasked with auditing accounts and recording the company's financial performance. This involves financial reporting, taxation, auditing, forensic accounting, corporate finance, business recovery and insolvency and accounting systems and processes.

- A successful CA is available to the leadership team whenever they require input (whether it be in their operations or capital raising efforts), and exhibits in-depth knowledge and understanding of the firm's activities and its financial performance.

- He / She will be confident in representing the financial arm of the firm with third parties including banks for any transactions, and building / nurturing such applicable relationships.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Manage financial systems and budgets.

- Report the company's financial performance regularly to management.

- Keep updated financial records for every transaction.

- Manage the documentation for every transaction (as required) with relevant stakeholders including suppliers, shipping companies, clearance companies, etc.

- Undertake financial audits (an independent check of the firm's financial position).

- Provide financial advice.

- Liaise with investors (individuals or businesses) and provide financial information.

- Review the company's systems and analyze risk.

- Advise on tax planning (within current legislation to enable the company to minimise tax liability) and tax issues associated with activities.

- Maintain accounting records and prepare accounts.

- Manage junior colleagues.

- Liaise with internal and external auditors (where applicable) and deal with any financial irregularities as they arise.

- Prepare financial statements, including monthly and annual accounts.

- Arrange financial management reports, including financial planning and forecasting; contribute to investor reports/pitches.

- Liaise with banks as required.

Qualifications:

- Undergraduate degree or graduate degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance.

- CA certification.

- General business interest and awareness.

- Self-motivation and commitment.

- Communication and interpersonal skills.

- Organizational and time management skills.

- A methodical approach.

- IT proficiency, especially in accounting software such as Tally and ERP software.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Numeracy.

- Leadership qualities and effective team working skills.

- Motivation and initiative.

- Integrity and trustworthiness.
