About our Client - Our client is a major global financial services provider engaged in retail banking, credit cards, corporate and investment banking with an extensive international presence in Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia. With over 125,000 employees spread across 40+ countries they lend, invest and protect money for over 40 million customers across the globe. This particular role is in the newly set-up space of Cost Decision Support Accounting Operations, as a line manager for 4 to 8 staff covering the ownership of certain accruals and prepayments account lines.

Job Description - Duties and responsibilities of this job include:

- Pre-month review of expense and accruals (Flash)

- Posting of accruals, prepayments and expense re-classes

- Adequate substantiation of accruals and prepayments

- Accrual process documentation and control along with re-engineering and improvement

- Review and analysis of Flash Results

- Issuance of Flash reports to Cost Decision Support business partners

- Balance Sheet Reconciliation

- Account Ownership

- Liaison with internal / external auditors

The Successful Candidate - You will be a Qualified Accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA), with 6+ years of experience in the Accounting Operations space, in a Controls environment. You will have in-depth Knowledge of financial industry cost drivers with an experience in direct, indirect costs management and reporting. You will be proficient in Microsoft Excel. You must have strong control awareness - in particular, you should be able to identify initiatives which will directly lead to improved control environment in the area you work in. Additionally you must have the ability to streamline processes, and if required, negotiate / persuade other department to accept the change. You will have a Customer focused with an ability to consistently delivers against targets. You will have strong problem solving, decision making, communication and leadership skills. finally, you will be a good listener with a confident and assertive manner, who works well in a team and maintains good relations with outside stakeholders as well.
