Management -
- Manage overall performance of the SSC general accounting team, ensuring that business targets are met and operational processes and procedures are followed.
- Represent general accounting for SSC with G/L customer managers in company meetings and with Local entities customer relationships, including CFO’s and key managers.
- Actively contributes to the continuous improvement process and to the standardisation of processes and practices across SSC team
- Validate and maintain rules and procedures of the General Accounting and Reporting process
Delivery
- Monitor the production of statutory and legal reports in collaboration with his team (customer account leaders)
- Monitor and assess compliance with internal controls, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Company Law requirements, Stock Exchange requirements (where applicable) and Saint Gobain financial policies and procedures.
- Guaranty (with adequate sub delegation) the application of internal control principles on all flows and accounting operations: perform independent controls on the team’s operations/postings.
- Manage and support general accounting team members to ensure achievement of service objectives by providing necessary resources and managing effective problem escalation. Set and communicate the team and individual targets.
- Sign payment runs if two signatures are delegated by the local entity.
- Perform the accounting of the SSC.
People Management
- Recruit, develop and evaluate general accounting team members, including personal development/training.
- Ensure the provision of a safe and secure working environment, in keeping with legal requirements
Accounting principles
- Is a local GAAP and IFRS specialist
- When needed, adapt existing instructions or create new ones in close relationship with local GAAP and IFRS experts, internal or external
System administration
- Contribute to identify/ collect users needs and system evolutions and interface with the IT Development Teams and the local controller
- Report the IT/IFSI needs to SSC Director, SSC Board
- Follow-up with IT Development Teams to ensure on-time delivery of needed support/reports/transactions…
Customer Focused
- Meet performance target and monitor performance between the SSC and local business units
- Ensure high level of customer service within the G/L process area, in accordance with process performance :
- Timely response to local entities queries.
- Helpful, friendly and informative communications.
- Proactive in meeting customer needs and requirements
