Accountant - Finance - Agri Commodity Trading - CA

LOCATION : Mumbai

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES :

The company is into the business of trading of agricultural commodities viz. Pulses, Grains, Cotton, Edible Oil & Oilseeds, etc.

Basic responsibility as an Accountant would be towards a particular commodity as mentioned aforesaid and would involve the following :

- Preparation of profit and Loss Account, Interest Calculations, etc

- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.

- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, and year end close.

- Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.

- Collaborates with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.

- Responds to inquiries from the Director /Traders, and other finance and Company wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.

- Dealing with the Auditors of the Company during the finalisation of Accounts, provide them the statutory registers for audit and resolve the querries raised during Audits.

- Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

Education : Chartered Accountant

Technical Skills and Prior Experience :

- Four to five years prior experience in the financial reporting and preparation of Accounts.

- Experience working in a similar Industry is preferred.

- Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast -pace setting.

- Experience with Navision or other large automated ERP accounting system a plus.

- Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong interpersonal, skills required.

- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
