Primary Purpose of Role : Managing end-to-end Indirect tax-related matters of the company viz. litigations, compliances and streamlining process gaps. Providing support to the team on other one-off tax-related projects. Role Responsibilities : 1. Indirect tax litigation - Managing CST/ VAT/ GST related assessments and appeals which includes data collation, review of tax submissions, managing tax notices from tax authorities, strategizing with consultants; - Pursuing tax refunds while managing the Tax Authorities and internal stakeholders, - Collating data and build factual information to reply to various notices; - Estimation of tax provision every month for financial reporting purposes. 2. Indirect tax compliance - Monthly payments and various returns related to CST/VAT/GST which will involve collating information from various stakeholders, ensuring end to end compliance. 3. Other tax projects / Tax R&amp;D - Driving changes in the organization as may be required by GST laws - Driving refunds with consultants - Doing in-depth research around the projects to add value addition Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities : Education level and/ or experience : - Chartered Accountant with 3-4 years- post qualification experience in managing indirect taxes related matters of clients in Big 4s/ large consulting firms with exceptional experience in implementing and managing GST compliance. Alternatively, the candidate should be employed with a large Indian corporate house and should be responsible for its indirect tax-related matters with exceptional experience in GST compliance and implementation. Skills and/or knowledge : - Strong indirect tax knowledge. - Extensive exposure of GST compliance and its implementation - Strong hands on ERP systems and MS Office. - Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills with an ability to work with all functional and business partners as the job require interactions with other functions in the company. - Fluency in English is essential, with exposure to a multinational desirable. - Reliable with a strong sense of integrity and compliance - Able to work independently and drive projects end to end Other requirements : - A mindset to implement the best tax practices and bring efficiencies from tax across functions - Ambitious - High energy - Solution-oriented and positive attitude - Ownership to complete projects - Fast-mover, quick to adapt - Flexibility and resilience in a fast-moving environment - Love for beer!
