Key Responsibilities: Strategic - Build a strong and efficient F&A team to provide robust business support for current operations and future scale up. - Ensure effective and efficient set up and implementation of internal controls of the company spanning across all businesses and locations. - Work seamlessly with peers and business heads to constantly review and improve internal financial controls and operating controls. - Support the CEO on working through Enterprise Risk Management Strategy for the company. - Build relationships with Business and functional Heads and assess their information needs to support business decision making. - Ensure management reporting is continuously improved to provide value additions and actionable insights to management. - Ensure accuracy and timely reporting of company financials in compliance with the Accounting Standards & regulatory requirements. Ensure clean Audit report. - Lead & implement regulatory changes like IFRS, IFC, ICDS, GST, and TDS. - Deal effectively with any technical issues that may arise out of changes in business models, new businesses, mergers and acquisitions. - Devise proper measures for asset management and protecting the company assets. - Implementation of shared services in finance focusing on accuracy, speed, and customer delight. Look for opportunities beyond finance to rope in the shared services model Provide leadership support in tax matters, drive tax planning and ensure compliance to tax laws and regulations. - Be the - conscience keeper- of the company setting high ethical and integrity practices and standards. - Support CEO on any strategic & operational initiatives. Operational - Design and Implement delegation of authority (DOA), controls through separation of duties (SODs), bank signatories & others - Partner with IT in establishing system-based controls and continuous improvements in monitoring, reporting systems and develop safeguards against revenue leakage. - Support entity level control checks and work through cross functional teams on required remedial actions. - Lead preparation and implementation of financial policies and procedures ensuring compliance to same. - Understand the various marketing schemes and provide inputs to strengthen the effectiveness and controls in scheme management. - Ensure timely and accurate bookkeeping, transaction processing, financial closure on monthly/quarterly/annual basis. - Ensure the preparation of financial statements, financial reports and audits for the company and its domestic / international subsidiaries as appropriate. - Ensure the hygiene of accounts, clean balance sheet on an ongoing basis. - Maintain strong professional relationship with statutory & internal auditors and proactively partner on accounts closing, reporting and internal audit matters. - Support in Audit Committee and Board Meetings. - Institute and maintain proper accounting control over asset acquisition and disposal, cash and bank accounts, payables, receivables and payroll accounting and safeguard against misappropriation of company assets. - Operationalize shared services model in finance, develop SLAs and publish dashboards on performance metrics. - Continuously focus on process simplification, automation, waste elimination and higher level of customer satisfaction. - Focus proactively on tax planning activities and ensure timely & accurate filing of statutory returns, replies to statutory authorities and completion of tax assessments. Financial - Ensure proper working capital management - inventory, AR, AP and others. - Drive cost savings through shared services delivery model. - Ensure the accuracy of accounting outputs through processes adherence compliance and control disciplines as outlined in the, Accounting Manual and other Group policies and procedures. People - Ensure proper staffing of key positions in the dept. - Develop succession plan of direct reports. - Review team and individual performance and provide feedback on strengths & development areas. - Identify development areas for direct reports and implement action plans for developing capability within the department. - Mentor team members and provide support them in enhancing their performance. - Coach team members and provide support in resolving professional and team concerns. Profile Requirements Educational Qualification - CA-first attempt - Mandatory - CS - Preferably Experience - At least 5 to 6 years of experience in controllership, financial closure, audit and Tax functions. - Required experience in books of accounts, year end and tax audit. - Understanding detailed budget exercise, monthly Management Information System (MIS).
