Job Description - Assistant Manager Payroll & Compliances - We are looking for a Assistant Manager Payroll & Compliances. You'll work to ensure our payroll expenses and taxes are paid correctly and on time. Our ideal candidate is analytical and methodical, with experience in payroll administration and deep knowledge of payroll regulations. We also value integrity, team spirit and strong organizational skills. - Your goal will be to ensure our payroll procedures are compliant, efficient and current. Responsibilities- - Perform tasks to establish and maintain employee payroll records - Input, review, and audit timekeeping and other payroll related records - Maintain time and attendance records - Enter new hires into the payroll system - Post changes in pay, tax status, and other miscellaneous categories - Compute wage, overtime, and other types of pay - Calculate and record payroll deductions (voluntary and involuntary) - Process advance, termination and other out-of-cycle payments - Reconcile earnings and deduction totals - Review output registers and reports and correct out-of-balance conditions - Compile payroll data for management, auditors, and others - Serve as back-up to other payroll specialist - Assure that all employees receive timely responses to inquiries, questions, etc. - Independently coordinate and communicate with all internal groups, hiring managers, and external parties (as required). - Address and resolve problems in a timely manner - Take initiative; demonstrate strong decision-making and organizational skills - Initiate best practices; develop efficiency improvements - Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned Other Responsibilities- - Develop systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g. salaries, benefits, rewards, deductions, taxes and third party payments) - Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems - Processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades - Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies - Supervise and coach payroll clerks and assistants - Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits - Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams - Maintain accurate records and prepare reports - Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questionsRequirements - Proven experience as a Payroll Assistant Manager or similar role - Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws - Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes - Familiarity with payroll software/ HRIS (e.g. SAP, ADP, Kronos) and MS Office (especially Excel) A keen eye for detail : - An analytical mind and good math skills - Organizational and leadership skills - Minimum experience 5 to 10 years - BSc/BA in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field; professional certification (e.g. CPP, CPM) is a plus - Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed and think and act independently while also being team oriented - Good follow-up skills; the ability to understand; adaptability to process changes; and a strong sense of importance and ownership
