Zonal Operations Head  Zonal Head - Direct Sales( manages 4 states)  Location : India (Mumbai/Delhi/Lucknow/Patna)   - The client is a VC-funded, India based business which builds and distributes low cost solar home lights for the 1.5 billion off-grid villagers in developing countries addressing the issues of unreliable electricity among the rural populations of the developing countries. Who have no choice but to use dangerous & unreliable sources of electricity like kerosene, candles etc.for work, study and life.   - Nominated as one of the top start ups set up by UK Alumini in 2015 who have been impacting the world by their initiatives. The entrepreneurs & start-ups nominations are strictly chosen by the British Council   - The role Reports to one of the Co-founders/Director   - The Direct Sales Head is a senior management professional who will lead sales and distribution operations across four states & build the large Direct sales force/channel comprising sales managers and agents  - This is a leadership position which takes full operational responsibility for all market-side functions of the direct sales business, recruiting and managing regional managers and senior field sales managers, setting up supply chain operations; training and leading the field sales team to create a large distribution network comprising hundreds of Business Managers and thousands of off-roll, village-level Business Associates in both countries.  Desired Skills and Experience :  The ideal Zonal Operations Head candidate has :  - Strong knowledge of rural and/or direct sales environments. At least 6 years work experience within India in village-level or semi-rural geographies. Experience in agent-driven direct sales industries strongly preferred.  - Significant high-scale field sales management experience. 8+ years leading and coaching large on-roll and off-roll field teams.
