Job Title : Category Manager - Procurement

Reports To : General Manager, Procurement

Summary :

- Under general supervision, the Category Manager is responsible for (but not limited to) strategic sourcing of goods and services atvarious locations of WNS at various geographies.

- The Strategic Sourcing includes Spend analysis, Conduct the bidding process, effective negotiations and achieving the results in view of customer expectations for respective category.

- Client operations experience will be added advantage in this position

Key Responsibilities - Category Manager :

- Manage strategic sourcing for the specific categories in IT and NON IT sections.

- Capital Purchase.

- Devise overall strategy for the respective category to achieve the cost savings and value additions.

- Review of existing processes to check the process health and devise improvement plans

- Building a process improvement framework through good business analysis and process optimization techniques.

- Establish effective operations controls to achieve the desired performance levels

- Drive operational excellence and improved performance.

- Managing key critical Projects as per milestone calendars.

- Build customer satisfaction through effective Performance and stake holder management

- BuildSynergy with key stake holders to enhance the performance and speed of the process

- Managing the team size for the best possible optimization and motivation.

- Planning the Talent Management program for the team

- Improvement in the performance and KRA's as per agreed SLA's.

- Building the culture towards innovation and creativity within the team

- Coach, train and mentor direct reports and provide career development opportunities through training

- Knowledge about logistics, SCM and Tax compliances.

Professional Experience, Knowledge And Education :

Essential :

- Minimum 5 year Procurement experience in IT /ITES industry. Overall 8-9 years of professional experience

- Strong understanding of the Source to pay process in captive environment.

- Very good exposure to ERP implementation / environment as a user; specially Oracle

- Good analytical skills

- Ability to lead teams in the procurement space

- Excellent client relationship skills

- A track record of strong operational delivery managing a large team in Sourcing and Procurement space

- Proven track record of driving change in people and processes, with strong project management, implementation and process improvement skills

- Ability to deal with high levels of ambiguity

- Data driven action orientation, with strong reporting, data analysis, presentation skills, and organizational abilities

- Knowledge of project and program management desirable

- Must have worked in a strategic sourcing environment for at least 5 years.

- Negotiation and communication skills are mandatory

- Performance management skills

- Learn and retain quickly. SOX knowledge desired

Desirable :

- Candidate from the IT / BPO industry

- Process improvement experience / Certification

- Good knowledge of technology platforms and systems

- Consensus building skills

Education :

- Relevant post graduate degree in Business Management or Commerce/ Sciences / Engineering
